Re: why bother??

I get the same feeling. If I had the cash I'd buy a row of tickets and hand them out at work. There are a couple of successes though. There was a buddy that I don't see often and the only cd I had was HAD TO CRY, and finally a year later he saw JOE B in New LONDON with Sam Bush. His exact words were "holy crap ,I'll be seeing him again!" When my girlfriend mentions going to his shows co-workers say........"oh is that that guy you two stalk?" I guess it"s human nature to be THE FIRST to see a musician, a movie etc. But I do find my mind wandering when they try to tell me about a band or whatever, I sit there thinking "YOU DON'T GET IT,THIS IS JOE BONAMASSA!!!"

"Is it the new blues mobile or what?"                                                                                                                                                                                                     "Fix the cigarette lighter."

Re: why bother??

I do as much as I can. You can get burned out. But everybody has something they like a lot and wanting to share it with others is very natural. It's also natural to have a percentage of people take interest, and another percentage turn away.

Ask me about my handwound Great Lakes Guitar Pickups
Since 2010, Bonamassa fans have taken advantage of my JB friend discount = my cost + shipping. cool

Re: why bother??

Hang in there Shred and keep doing what you are doing, rest assured it is making a difference. I talk about Joe so much I'm sure people are sick of it, but I have also opened a lot of people's eyes too. Hang in there buddy...

Hey guys,

I'll take Joe Pesci's role as Tommy DeVito. As there digging Billy Batts back up to move him, Jimmy Conway (DeNiro) and Tommy are having this conversation, "Hey, here's a leg. Here's a neck. Where's the wing?" As Henry Hill (Ray Liotta) is losing his cookies. Funny, yet gruesome scene!

Actually, on second thought, Tommy gets it in the end so I think I won't be Pesci's character........

In the new movie Spider gets shot for not playing Joe Bonamassa when the guys sit down.

Re: why bother??

I would say never give up on supporting Joe and getting people turned on to his music.  Why? because that is exactly what happened to me.  I'm 26 and first heard of Joe just 2.5 years ago I guess.  Until that point I had never even heard of him and I live and breathe all things guitar.  A co-worker of mine and I were out to lunch one afternoon and he knew that I was into guitars/blues etc and he asked me if I had ever heard of a guy named Joe Bonamassa.  Of course I replied "no".  He then plugged his Ipod in and we sat in his van for an hour and listened to Joe.  I've been a die hard fan ever since.  Of course when I got home the name Bonamassa slipped my mind (kinda hard to remember at first).

So I was one of those people that didn't know JB and now I'm a bigger fan than my friend and have gotten my mom of all people and my uncle into Joe's music.  KEEP IT UP!!!
