Topic: The Surf Ballroom - July 14

Exhilerating performance from Joe, Mark, and Bogie as the opening act for Tesla before an announced crowd of 1500 in a rather steamy Surf. Joe displayed his usual brilliance and Mark was much more animated than when I saw them earlier this year. The guys are definitely having a blast playing together. From my perspective near the stage for Joe's set the crowd was really into it and I think Joe made some new fans. The setlist was:

Takin' The Hit
Walk In My Shadows
Blues Deluxe
Mountain Time
Bridge To Better Days
A New Day Yesterday

The word after the show was that they may be back to headline a show there on December 1.

Hope your right that Joe comes back as a headliner, Lee.  I enjoyed Friday's performance but I need more Joe and a longer set.

Some friends of mine were at CDGBs in Mason City, which is owned and operated by the same people who own and operate the Surf. They were there to buy A New Day Yesterday Live after borrowing my copy Friday and being blown away by Joe on Friday night. They were told by the owner that Joe would be back to headline on Dec 1. These friends were Tesla fans but one communted on Monday that they would rather have seen Tesla open for Joe.
