Topic: Radio stations with good Blues programs

These are 2 I listen to every week. Anyone else have any they'd like to add that stream on the internet?

Re: Radio stations with good Blues programs

Here in Charlotte, there is a Blues program that runs on Sunday 7-9pm EDT.

They will play a couple of Bonamassa songs each week.

Music is good for the Soul...

Re: Radio stations with good Blues programs

None in my area. One of the stations use to have one, but they took it down.

Re: Radio stations with good Blues programs

Get Sirius Satellite Radio!  Channel 74 "Sirius Blues", all blues 24 hours a day, great variety of classic and newer stuff, and YES, they play Joe!
Satellite radio is one of the best investments I've made...150 channels, commercial free, works coast-to-coast, and it's not the same boring crap you hear on conventional radio every day.  Best $12.95 a month you'll ever spend...

Re: Radio stations with good Blues programs

I agree with CubbyBear except that we've got XM Radio. On XM it's the same channel number 74, but it's called Bluesville. Of course, most of the stuff they play is more traditional blues but it is still better than commercial radio as far as I'm concerned. They do run a two hour program three times a week called 'Stoneblue" that is devoted entirely to "rockin' blues" and Joe is one of the artists that is played on a consistent basis. A few weeks ago they even played a Bloodline tune. Lately, they've been playing songs off "You and Me" - in fact I heard "Torn Down" about three hours ago. Joe was in their studio back in January and supposedly did some performing and maybe an interview but I haven't heard anything more about that.

Plus they've got all the other commercial-free music channels if your in the mood for something different.
With a subscription you can also get XM online for no extra charge.

Re: Radio stations with good Blues programs

Ah yes but will Congress allow you to record off satellite radio?!

I finally got around to listening to this station. I noticed on the site that they have a "favorite blues guitarist poll". What's interesting is who is #1. I was surprised. Even more surprising is one I thought would be at the top and is actually a few places down. It's not Joe - though I think he should be rated higher too.

I've been listening to other stations, but this still is my favorite.  They play a little too much Lil Ed & The Blues Imperials, but all in all, the content is very good.

Re: Radio stations with good Blues programs

WRPI 91.5 FM  is a college radio station located in Troy NY. They also stream in Real audio.  Their blues show is on Monday night from 8-10 called "Stormy Monday Blues" with Steve Daub. Steve is a big fan of Joe's and plays him when he can. He has been trying ot get Joe on there for quite some time but Monday night is tough to get scheduled.

Re: Radio stations with good Blues programs

I listen exclusivly to Bellyup4blues. That's where I first heard Joe. The station is from California and is on 24/7/365.  They have a chat box and requests are taken when the DJ is on live. Give it a listen and if you really love the blues you won't be disapointed. As i'm typing this they are playing Delux Blues.

Great station, TM. In fact, they're playing Joe now: I know where I belong.
