Topic: Blues Music Awards (The Handy's) Nominees Announced

The nominations for the 2008 BMAs have been announced (see below). Congratulations to lots of local folks:

Jackie Payne (soul blues male artist of the year),
John Nemeth (best new artist debut),
Mark Hummel (instrumentalist--harmonica),
Tommy Castro (entertainer of the year and contemporary blues album of the year), Sista Monica (soul blues female artsist of the year),
Sonny Rhodes (instrumentalist--other)!

This area is very well represented. Looks like some variety for a change. For example, for the first time in my recent memory, Willie Smith wasn't nominated. See for yourself.
