It might... It could also be a grounding issue... Are you playing single coils? If so they always have a lot more hum than humbuckers...

#1, has it always been this way? or just recent?
#2, is this only happening on one guitar, or all guitars?
#3, have you ever toggled the polarity +\- on the back? (i don't)
#4, make sure its plugged into a good power outlet with proper ground?
Easy troubleshoot would be to try another cable, or take your cable now and plug it into a different amp.
good luck
Is the feedback a whistle or a howl?.....could be pre-amp tubes or pick-ups that need potting. Too much gain with single coils if you're standing in front of the amp could also be the culprit.

I agree with gsj. Microphonic pre-amp tube(s), or pickups or both...
If you have an effects loop, plug the guitar directly into the return and play (this should bypass the preamp stage). If the hum, noise goes away, it's probably preamp tubes.
You can also try tapping (lightly) on each preamp tube with a pencil to find the squealer.
I was imagining a "eehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" sound
