I haven't heard Plant sound this good in decades as he does on this song.

Thanks for this Keith. Awesome is a much over-hyped word, but it fits here!

Re: Led Zep plus Jason Bonham to reunite in London in November?!

Hey Keith,

Thanks for the links.

This is a review from a Clapton fan that lives in Hertfordshire, England.

"Good morning campers. Well, what can I say?? It’s always easy to get carried away and say how superb a band were when you saw them live. In fact, when I finally arrived home 1.30am this morning I was tempted to log on straight away and give my review but decided to sleep on it. And guess what…………I still feel the same. It was a superb gig. I’ve seen plenty in my time but last night’s Zepp gig is certainly the best performance I’ve ever seen.

They came on just after 9pm. Straight into Good Times, Bad Times. Superb. Onto Ramble On and then the moment when we knew we were in for a treat. Black Dog. They truly kicked **** and showed their intent on that tune. Then In My Time Of Dying. Never been one of my huge Zepp faves but that’s now changed. Then For Your Life. To be honest it has been a while since I’ve listened to the Presence album so I didn’t really recognize it at the time.

Then time for some dancing. Trampled Underfoot which I’ve always loved. JP Jones on the keyboards and Page riffing up a storm. Next up Nobody’s Fault But Mine and then the chill out tune. No Quarter. I say chill-out tune simply because somebody a few rows behind me lit up a joint as the tune started. The strong smell of cannabis in the air made me think it was 1977 rather than 2007. Great performance of No Quarter.

Then a personal highlight for me and my friend – Since I’ve Been Loving You. Once again superb. Dazed and Confused was up next. I was scared it would be a 25 minute version like they used to play and some other songs might not get played as a result. Thankfully they kept it short at around 10 minutes.

After that the lights went down and Mr Jimmy Page put on his double neck and started playing Stairway To Heaven. Sublime!! The Song Remains The Same was followed by Misty Mountain Hop and the final tune of the main set – Kashmir.

They left the stage at about 10.50pm to a standing ovation. Came back on after a few minutes and treated us to Whole Lotta Love. Then went off again. I was sure they’d finish with Rock And Roll and they didn’t disappoint. A stunning end to a stunning show. They finished about 11.10pm.

The best band in the world? You betcha. Will they tour next year? Lets’s hope so. Seriously good they were.

Criticisms? Well none really for the band. They ALL played out of their skins. Page and Jones make it look easy. Bonham Junior was the real surprise of the night – that kid can really play…………….although as he’s 41 years old I guess he’s not really much of a kid. Plant was his usual superb self. For sure he can’t hit those really high notes anymore but then he is nearly 60 and you can’t scream like that forever, was just nice to hear him singing those great words and melodies again.

The one disappointment I would have is for the lottery system for tickets. I know a great many people wanted to see last night’s concert – thankfully me and my friend were lucky but I do have to inform you there were quite a few empty seats. The two seats next to me were empty all night and a few rows in front of us there were 4 empty seats all-night. A real shame as I know of so many people who could’ve been sat there enjoying the show.

I really liked the arena. I’m back there next Wednesday to see Bruce Springsteen and very much looking forward to it. It’s very smart and the sound wasn’t too bad either.

Ooh, I forgot the support bands – well, not as impressive as I’d first thought or hoped for. First up was Keith Emerson, Carl Palner and Chris Squire of Yes. A prog rock start to the night as they performed a version of ‘Fanfare For The Common Man.’ Twas okay, then Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings with a number of guests – Maggie Bell, Paulo Ntini (I didn’t think much of him,) and best of all – Paul Rodgers who did an ace version of Alright Now.

Then the final support act was Foreigner who came on to perform – I Want To Know What Love Is. They tried to get the crowd singing but the crowd wanted Led Zeppelin – not Foreigner. Thankfully they were on the stage quite briefly.

So back to Zepp. Just genius. Get the DVD when it comes out – it was a superb show. I really hope they tour next year. They’d be mad not to give it one more World Tour."

Re: Led Zep plus Jason Bonham to reunite in London in November?!

Hmmmm....I read in one review that "Dazed And Confused" was 20 minutes, not 10, but maybe they were mistaken.

At any rate here's another one, "No Quarter" (9:34)

Thanks for the review, Angela. Always good to get the 'man in the audience's' reaction.

I just tried Whole Lotta Love, only to get the message that they've pulled it due to a copyright claim by Warner and his brothers. sad

...and No Quarter has also been pulled....

RIP Iron Man

There's still some out there on You Tube, some good ones by backpackdave.  Hurry and go watch if you haven't cause it seems that Warner Bros. is yanking them one by one.

Be sure to watch "Kashmir" before that gets yanked too. It literally gave me goose bumps.

I think a tour may be possible after the Plant/Krause tour ends, would absolutely love to see this happen.

Would love to see it happen too.  Saw Robert Plant a few years ago solo and Jason with Foreigner last year but to see Led Zep would be great!
