Earlier this Fall Joe was supposed to be on WCCC (Hartford) for an interview on the weekly blues show hosted by Beefstew. It was postponed I believe 'cause Joe had a gig that night. It is rescheduled for this Sunday night at 9:30 pm. Be there or be uninformed on Joe's plans for 2008! The weekly Sun night blues show is from 6 to midnight...

Sorry for confusion - it is now about 9 pm eastern standard time - interview is in 1/2 hr. If you have cable or DSL internet just go to www.wccc.com. click on live radio in upper left of WCCC main page. If you live between Boston and New York - try 106.9 fm. If not...then...

thanks Rhoovis, I have tried everything to listen....Beefstew's producer has even been trying to help me get connected, but no luck. I will look forward to your report. She said Joe would be on in about 20 minutes,so probably more like 15 or less now. Have fun listening! Patty

He called from his home in S. California
He said '07 was the" greatest year of his life" and thanked all of YOU for being part of it.
He gave special thanks to producer Kevin for helping him "change" for the better
Questions from emailers:
Special hello went out to Patty who must have called or emailed from Iowa.
- It has been rumored Joe doesn't like playing "shiny" new guitars". Joe responded by saying he has to play any quitar long enough to get to know it - til it is truey yours. (Analogy would be getting used to a new pair of shoes)
- Which of your 200 guitars would you choose if you had to take only one? Joe said his Les Paul (1959 Sunburst) he has played heavily for the last 2 yrs.
-Who would u like to play with that you haven't? Joe said Jeff Beck and ? (I missed the 2nd person) - My wife had to be responded to!
- If John Mayall called and asked u to play with him ( more then one gig) would u do it? Joe said no - he has an obligation to his fans and the 13 people in his 'posse'. Beefstew asked if Joe would play in a Crossroads deal w/ Clapton. Joe said yes - in fact he was contacted last minute '07 but it was during his Europe shows and again he couldn't live with himself if he canc those shows.
- (my question) What do you mean by "world" blues - something u said u want to explore more in the future? Joe said because blues is truely global he would like to work some of those influences into his music down the road. He commented further his next CD will be "more worldly" but doesn't mean he will travel to all around the world beforehand.
Joe commented in Feb he will start his tour in India then England, Holland and Scandanavia the go into the studio for the new CD.
That is the short version...Joe sounded great and truely thankfulfor al he has!!

Thank you so much Rhoovis. Beefstew's producer said she would send me a CD of the show. Said it would take awhile, but I can be patient. The only thing left I knew to do was email Beefstew and to have him please tell Joe hello

Thanks Rhoovis for the posting. I listened to it as well. I think you summed it up very well. The other person Joe would like to play with is Eric Clapton.
I couldn't listen either, but the screen said Another Kind of Love was playing. Since it's a rock station, that one should get their attention....What other songs did they play?.....It's a lonely little Joe forum without show reviews/blogs...well you all know! Patty, can I get a copy? Thanks so much for this little Joe "fix".....lol.. Cathy

No other songs from Joe. "Another Kind Of Love" was actually played right before the interview started.
Thanks Rhoovis for the link. I listened to this last night too. You're right. Joe seemed very rested and relaxed. I'm sure he's glad to be home. One other thing he mentioned was attending an event in Memphis (I think) before leaving for India. I was half asleep so I can't remember the details, just that Joe seemed to really want to try and make that event. So, if that's true you Memphis fans may be in for a February treat.

That was a Blues Foundation Board of Directors meeting he wanted to attend in Memphis about the same time as the IBC (International Blues Challenge) is going on. Might be pretty tight though - he's got shows in CA and Las Vegas on the same dates as the IBC which is Jan. 31 - Feb. 2, 2008.

I was distracted and forgot about starting this on time otherwise I could have probably captured it. However, if Stew says he'll mail you a CD, I'd bet he will, as he sent one to me of last March's interview.

Hey Carl,
They said it might take awhile, but that they would send a copy. I was so frustrated trying to be able to listen. So I sat and watched it saying Another Kind of Love was playing and then I knew I was missing the interview right after that. I don't understand the whole streaming thing (obviously). I could listen to the BBC show LIVE and I could hear Dino's show LIVE, so what made this one different? They were very kind at the studio trying to help me figure it out, but I knew the closer it got to air time, their time was very limited. Maybe I'll get it all figured out someday Patty
