Re: Claptons Crossroad

I saw Sonny a couple of years ago in Tulsa. Great set.

I like Jeff Beck, I think Jeff Beck's cool, but give me Clapton anyday. Just my opinion.

Re: Claptons Crossroad

Sonny Landreth is my favorite slide player..I don't think Joe would be offended as he ranks Sonny high on his list also....Bob (tarus52) is going to see him tonight. If you get a chance to see Sonny GO! He and his band are, again, very nice, regular guys. (The best always are.) Many, including me, have been bugging him for a DVD..Seems he doesn't think he's good looking enough. BAH! I say people need to SEE his hands. This snippet of him playing is rare. He has a new CD coming out soon. By the way, did anybody else think he looked like a brother to Albert Lee?          Angela..You're Right!! She was one of favs that day..She was having a blast!

Re: Claptons Crossroad

Backyard...I was shocked at how many people were leaving when Clapton and Winwood were playing together for the first time in 25 years!!! One guy near me only stayed long enough to see Willie Nelson... To each his own as they say....Cathy

Re: Claptons Crossroad

Man I was knocked out by Beck and Tal also!!! She just rocks! Great tone and chops...

Re: Claptons Crossroad

Lots of highlights to that show, but for me it was Beck's set. Tal was inspiring, but 21? She looks like a very young 21...like you could almost turn those numbers around.
I actually enjoyed John Mayer. The guy can play, but I agree that he's no Joe. There aren't too many people on this planet in Joe's league.

She is an absolutely amazing talent!!  Does anyone know how she got connected to Jeff?  Also, does anyone think she facially resembles the original Blind Faith cover?

Re: Claptons Crossroad

Jeez, I never made that connection. I've just checked out my old Blind Faith cover and you are absolutely 'on the money'.
