Topic: Killer Show - Hard Rock Live Orlando 12-04-07

Good Morning Everybody,

All I can say is What a show!  I have never seen a show like this before.  When Joe said he was gonna put the pedal down, he wasn't kidding.  This venue had great stage, great lighting and most important, great sound.  Joe said there was around 600 people there.  That's a great crowd for a Tuesday night. I think the set list was the same as Tampa, but I can't swear to it.   Joe made a comment that he played Orlando about 4 years ago and only 7 people showed up.  Can you imagine? I guess he is finally catching on down here.

When the show started, the Hard Rock Staff started video taping part of the show from the front of the stage.  I don't know where  that video will wind up, but I hope we will all get to see it.

There probably wasn't a bad seat in the house except where we were seated sad
Fortunately for us, the place wasn't sold out and we were free to move around.  We were front row, far right and they had the seats stretched about 10 feet past the stage.

The Hard Rock has very strict rules, except they did allow us to bring our camera in and we were all a little dissapointed when they started ushering everyone out immediately following the show.  We did get a chance to meet and chat with Carmine for a minute before we were all asked to leave.  It was really nice to meet you Carmine.  It was also nice to meet some of  the fans from the forum.  Upsetme(Tim) and wife (from Winter Haven), Brent(from DeLand), & Jim (from the street team).

Ken got some pretty good photos that I'll put up under "Cool Pictures" in a few minutes.  Overall, this was the best show I've ever seen.  The very best!!!   Thank you Joe, Carmine, Rick, Bogie and the entire crew for an outstanding show.  Rest up, have a Happy Holiday and we'll see you next year.

Susan smile

P.S.  Joe, if you read this, I hope you will consider making Orlando a regular tour stop.  smile

Hey Susan, been waiting for your review.  What a way to end the tour with such a great show.  Tuesday night is a tough draw anywhere and to have 600 is not bad at all.  Glad you guys had a great time and look forward to seeing your pictures...

Cathy,

We are already thinking about how long it will be until we see Joe perform again.  It will most likely be on the east coast since that's where most of our family and friends are.  (Somewhere between New York and Florida). Ken and I both had a great time celebrating his birthday in Tampa.  This is the first time we took in two shows almost back to back.  "Double the fun".  We met so many nice people along the way.  In the meantime, we will continue to see other artists that we enjoy.  We have tickets to see Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi the end of this month and I'm really looking forward to that.  In fact, we're hooking up with a couple we met at Joe's show in Tampa who also have tickets to this show.
But, yes...   we will be experiencing withdrawals just like everybody else.  But all in all life really is good.  (Even though I do have to go back to work tomorrow   Uggghhh!) roll

Thanks one more time Susan. I'm sure the setlist was close enough to being the same to say it was...If the food ain't always pleasant, one thing I'll say is just about every major park attraction and major venue in Orlando carries top notch sound as a given...I am wrist-wringing over not being there!  Plus (to the tune of I need a new drug) I Need A New Tuque!!!  The snow here in NY accentuates my disappointment.  Video, huh?! hmm Sounds like a wonderful spot on the planet last night for a few brief moments for some fortunate souls.  Yes Joe, make Orlando a regular stop, please.  Next time for You & Me, eh Thraak (and Thraakson)???!!!

No Tuque's to be found at the two shows I attended.  Not really alot of use for them down here.
You know I was thinking, there are other locations in Orlando that would be fun for Joe to play.  There's the new B.B. King Theatre that just opened up last week.  I haven't been there yet, but from pictures it looks pretty nice.  Then, there's always the HOB.  And there's the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center. I've seen Joe Satriani play there.  There's also outdoor amphitheatres.  Crane's Roost amphitheatre in Altamonte Springs.(my personal favorite) and the Lake Eola amphitheatre in downtown Orlando.  I'm not sure the outdoor venues would meet the band's requirements but an outdoor venue  would be a real treat. I would love to see him play at the new B.B. King Theatre.  Just a thought.
