p.s.-the latter Jane....and the former!!!
actually as i actually look at what i wrote i realized i added an s to 'war and superstition' and then i took that thought a little further and see how that i don't hear the s so i can boldly proclaim
i do believe
it is supposed to be
"war and superstition"and NOT "warring superstition" but as always, do it however it works for you.....
Jane, I hear "War with superstition, joy and inhibition." But as you say, whatever works for you.
And I too love this song and its vivid lyrics.

Well Jane the former must just be the war-"ring"-ing-ing-ing in my ears and the latter I saw your added "s" but accepted it as written...to wit: I believe you are henceforth correctamundo!

I thought it was interesting...in Harrisburg, Jane asked Joe about the lyrics of a particular passage of this song and his reply was something to the effect of "Uhhh...I don't remember, I only sang it like three times". ???? I would have to say it's my favorite major song on Sloe Gin...definitely a keeper and would love to see it done electrically in the live show.

I concur Doctor!
I think (and this is not a dig) - Dirt in my Pocket could be played on many country stations across the US and the sound would fit right in with a lot of the rockier country out these days. = more audience.

Traditional Country died a while back...now if you gargle with algae-ridden fish bowl water and chewing tobacco and toss on a hat you're a country "legend"...Some of them ROCK incredibly now though! Weird world. But if they "somehow" grab a hold of a Joe Bonamassa song, I am all for it...NO I don't think "Revenge of the Ten Gallon Hat" will grab today's typical country music fan..."Dirt In My Pocket", perhaps...I would think (using Sloe Gin cuts specifically & only) "Richmond" and maybe moreso "Around the Bend" would garner some approval.
