i use to watch this guy all the time growing up even had a poster or two of him on the wall next to my dead posters ,hot tuna , led zep, the who, yes peter framton  , and the list goes on . so rest in peace evel .............joe

The guy was definitely one of a kind. The timing was a bit surprising since he had just been in the news for settling his lawsuit with Kanye West regarding the use of Evel's jumps in one of Kanye's videos. They had a picture in the newspaper of the two of them shaking hands. That was like two days before his death.
RIP Evel.

Sadly I remember his crashs more than his successes...Makes me cringe..Almost sorry he went because of disease. A part of me wishes it would have been from another crash. (I think I watch too many movies!) RIP Evel                           Cathy

A buddy of mine went to see him try and jump the Snake River with the rockets on the motorcycle.  Interesting to hear him talk about the circus like atmosphere.  But he said it was well worth the cross country trip...

It was pretty much a farce, but what a spectacle, you HAD to watch him try it.  But I give HUGE kudos to the man for what it all really meant that day-I said I was going to do it and I had to stick to my word...WOW!  After that infamous Caesar's Palace crash you HAD to more than half expect he would die trying...GUTS!  He shoulda consulted me about that rocket bit though...  Wonder how many of those Mattel toys of him are still around...
EDIT: I correct myself. Ideal Toy Company made those Evel Knievel Motorcycles...And they sold a ton of them!!!
