Re: Athens Georgia day off

Geez, it's really hard to read this one liner and not comment.  wink  "11:00 watched New England win against the Eagles..."  New England certainly seems unstoppable, but going into the 4th quarter with the Eagles beating the Patriots 28-24, it seemed like the Eagles ruffled some feathers!!! cool  At least it wasn't a boring blowout!

And speaking of those VH1 Classics, it's my favorite channel...last week I was watching a block of ACDC, an entertaining spectator sport watching Angus & the audience being smashed against the stage...how many fans have been sprayed with his sweat?  Also, I never could tell the difference between their 2 lead singers, they both kinda' screech and I can't always understand them, but some real good rock n' roll...Joe, I hope you get lucky guitar shopping...you're on the homestretch, enjoy those Florida shows and remember...there's no place like home...treasure every minute of your down time!  Thanks for the posts! smile

Angela! My goodness! (just teasing)....Bon Scott vs. Brian Johnson...no comparison, really. Bon Scott was a more soulful and bluesy singer. Brian is more of a screamer. It's all good, but I do/did prefer Bon Scott.

Re: Athens Georgia day off

Except for Stiff Upper Lip. My favorite AC/DC record. Quite bluesy.

Re: Athens Georgia day off

Damn, the more of your daily blogs i read , Joe, the more i want to be a rockstar. It sure seems to beat sitting in an office big_smile

AC/DC, thats were I started to get into th Rock and Blues scene when i was about 11. AC/DC were my favourite artist until a certain Mr Bonamassa came along, infat thats why i bought myself a Gibson SG, the trusty axe of Angus for the last 30+ years.

I have to agree with Stu on this one, Brian and Bon are very different people. I think the music changed aswell to reflect the change in singers and although both are fantastic I prefer the Bon Scott stuff.

Re: Athens Georgia day off

AC/DC is the meat and potatoes of rock.

Shopping for guitars is fun. But hours can go by...
Joe, are you getting the itch (to purchase guitars) again? Christmas present perhaps?

Re: Athens Georgia day off

Hi Stu,
Pleading ignorant here....I never owned ACDC until my kids brought them into the house...only knew their radio stuff...so I knew from the kids about the 2 singers and had never seen any footage until VH1 classic.  I can't think what Greek mythology dude the lead singer reminds me of or a modified unicorn or something, but the bare chest, long hair and very tight pants...which singer is he?  I have to really concentrate and almost read his lips to understand him!  So, it must have been Brian? lol I'm not sure why the band fell under my purchasing radar...

Re: Athens Georgia day off

AC/DC Were my fave Band until JB's Songs Blew me away and got me back into music , and would just love to see joe drop an ac/dc riff into one of his medleys , there are so many fuel driven Boogie Blues Rockers that they've Done , Whole Lotta Rosie , Back in Black , Let There Be Rock ,
Problem Child , Rocker , and my personal fave Riff "Overdose" that jb could signature his own style on
As for Bon/Brian Debate , yes i believe Bon was the better singer but Brian has been with AC/DC now for 27 years and done a Brilliant job and the perfect frontman , God they've done some of the best Hard Rock/Blues Ever ..... Really ,  Just Brilliant Driving Music

............................. Michael

PS      They've got a Album coming out in 2008

Joe Bonamassa .......  His Greatest 3 Videos ... IMMHO   After Much Deliberation

2nd ...... Sloe Gin       /  Vienna            http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRASS8O8ZnE
1st ....... Blues Deluxe / The Borderline    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gnl3E_KLxYg

Re: Athens Georgia day off

Aw man! If Joe slipped an AC/DC riff into one of his shows (that I'm at ofcourse ;p) It would be absolutely amazing. Some great opportunities in rocker, and there are some great bluesy licks in The Jack.

Hey Michael, is that a confirmed release year? lol. I've heard they were supposed to be releasing the album about 2 years ago now. I also heard from an interview with Brian quite a while ago that they might have enough to do a double album. I dunno, i think i'l wait til i see it.

Can't wait though, all they need after that is a world tour big_smile
