Joe Bonamassa Radio Show and More:
Blues-Rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Joe Bonamassa is riding a new wave of activity following the release of his seventh solo album, Sloe Gin via a new monthly column in Guitar World and a show on Sirius Satellite Radio.
ìOnce,î says Bonamassa, ìI wondered if anybody would stop and listen to my music, let alone care what I had to say. I was that kid in the bookstore reading the guitar magazines and soaking in tips and gaining insight from my favorite players. I was also the kid with his tape deck recording songs off the Sunday night Blues shows to have new inspiration for the week, fresh music I could jam along with. Now, to have Guitar World and Sirius give me the opportunity to be on the other side of that process is a tremendous honor ñ and a responsibility that I donít take lightly.î
Joe Bonamassaís monthly byline in Guitar World premieres in the publicationís Holiday 2007 issue. Editor Andy Aledort says, ìJoeís a great player and knowledgeable teacher. He has a lot to say about his music, and weíre excited that heís interested in communicating it through our magazine.î Under the header Blues Deluxe ñ also the name of Bonamassaís 2003 album ñ the column will be instructional in nature, serving up Bonamassís thoughts on diverse inspirations, influences, and techniques that inform his style. In addition to placement in the magazineís pages, ìBlues Deluxeî will have a video companion on the DVD/CD-ROM that comes with each issue, giving fans the opportunity to watch Bonamass and play along. Besides the elements shot by Guitar World, Bonamass is shooting his own HD video components for inclusion to further personalize the visual presentation.
Daily Cup Of Joe, Bonamassaís new program on Sirius Satellite Radio, airs Monday through Friday on Siriusí Blues Channel 74 from 12PM-12:15PM/ET. Bonamass ñ whoís on the road an average of 250 days annually ñ records most of the segments from a studio set up in the back of his tour bus. The shows feature Bonamass spinning favorite tracks ñ from hard-edged Blues Rock to Roots treasures and more ñ and offering insights and musings on the artists and recordings he presents as well as updates on his own exciting music. With a tour schedule that routes Bonamassa across the U.S. for the remainder of 2007 and throughout the U.K. in early í08, ìDaily Cup Of Joeî will reach Sirius subscribers from a wide range of locations in the foreseeable future.
