Topic: Community Theater 11/15

Just got home from what I would like to call 'the best show on earth.' And no I'm not kidding.

The show was absolutely amazing, I can't describe how many people were shocked by Joe..the place was packed.

Set list

Bridge to Better Days
Walk In My Shadows
So Many Roads
Mountain Time
Another Kind of Love
Sloe Gin
High Water Everywhere
Woke Up Dreaming
Just Got Paid
Asking Around For You

Before Joe, Crosby opened. I really liked the addition of the violin player, Paul. He's a cool guy and it does add a lot. I really look forward to seeing Crosby with his full band. He played one of my favorites 'March on America.' Crosby is really talented and he has a great future in front of him. I bought his CD and talked to him for a while. Nice guy.

Joe's amazing guitar work made many people stand there and stutter, as he took them to the next level. All through out the show, you could just see the look on people's faces. Dammmm they know this guy is kick ****. I enjoyed 'Just Got Paid' (my favorite), I always like how Joe changes the song up every time I see him. A lot of people were there. The venue was amazing, the sound is top notch. Not to mention they have one of the coolest lighting systems. Joe and Co really looked good and they were definitely in sync with each other. They looked like they were having the time of their life up there. Every time I see Joe he just keeps getting better and better. Vocals were superb like always. Rick was really digging it out on the piano and he has some really fast hands. Bogie was also amazing. During the end of 'Just Got Paid' he threw his drumstick into the air, were it reached super sonic speeds. It had to go up at least 10 feet. It was something that I don't recall seeing before and it was really cool. Carmine was awesome... I love the way he plays bass.

After Joe, Sam Bush came on. Sam is one hell of a musician, he can really play any type of music. Sam has a good band backing him, his bass player really does have a good voice. Something that I never expected to see when they first took the stage. Sam ended his set with Led Zep's 'Whole Lotta Love' which was very cool to watch. For the encore, Joe came out to join Sam on stage. They did one of the best jams ever..... It was something that you just have to see.

I would like to thank Joe, Carmine, Bogie, Rick, Crosby, and crew for being so welcoming and nice to me. It's awesome to know you guys!

Well until next time........

They recorded it and might use it for the CD if it turns out good. I didn't notice any tapers.

Nice Bill,
Thanks a lot Bill. Can you describe that jam or will you do less than stutter? Is there a new Boss in Jersey now? That's a pretty succinct setlist...Got to wonder...75 minute set...CD's hold 70-75 minutes...A whamtango-jamtango with Sam Bush... hmmm... hmm

They were playing off each other, doing some crazy riffs. Sam uses a mandolin so it was pretty cool to watch. It was just Joe and a guitar! wink

Re: Community Theater 11/15

I think we've discovered the magic setlist.  wink A tie-in with Sam Bush...I can see clearly now the strain is gone...

Re: Community Theater 11/15

Thanks Bill for the great update and the setlist.  The venue seems like an ideal setting with great sound and lights.  That must have been awesome to see Joe jam with Sam!!!

Re: Community Theater 11/15

Bill,

It was good to meet you last night you are the first street team member I have met! You review of the show was great and one thing I would like to mention is the theatre it was a great venue to see Joe and the guys play. Twenty years ago I saw Meatloaf play there and it seems fitting for Joe to follow in the footsteps of these great artists who have performed over the years in the Community Theatre.

The sound was phenomenal last night it always sounds great but last night all the instruments were rocking and the passion and energy that Joe produces when he plays is incredible. When he plays his guitars they come alive which resonates through out the theatre and mesmerises the audience.

Last night was a great audience the Bonamassa fans are definitely some of the best. It was a shortened set due to Sam Bush but the song choice was excellent. As always a brilliant show.

Looking ahead to Jim Thorpe PA.

Re: Community Theater 11/15

WOW what a show last night.....first time seeing joe and he is simply amazing!!!the best i have seen since SRV in 1988.....  me and a buddy were in the balcony, and were alone in the back section (front row aisle seat!)...there were so many older folks there who had to have been blown away by his musicianship. i couldn' believe how silent the place was when he played his really quiet notes(he did "shhh" the crowd once). Highlights included the phenomenal dazed and confused rendition... jimmy page would've been floored(what song was he playing when he broke into that?)...and the song with the acoustical where he plays 100 mph (sorry don't know the name offhand) the only disappointment was when the lights came on and there was no encore.....thanks so much joe and please please please please please come back to new jersey again soon........

Re: Community Theater 11/15

Hi rudy67, welcome to the board. Glad you had a great time last night at the JB show.

Highlights included the phenomenal dazed and confused rendition... jimmy page would've been floored(what song was he playing when he broke into that?)

That would be 'Just Got Paid', a cover that Joe does from ZZ Top.

...and the song with the acoustical where he plays 100 mph (sorry don't know the name offhand)

That would be 'Woke Up Dreaming', one of my favorites!

the only disappointment was when the lights came on and there was no encore.....

'Asking Around For You' was the encore, it may not have seemed like an encore, but it was. They only had a limited amount of time since the venue had an early curfew. But they managed it quite well and pulled off a great show.
