@reo. Wow I love Prisoner
Me too, one of my favorite covers he's ever done!
Today I am celebrating my anniversary of my first Joe Bonamassa concert - 6 years ago in Atlantic City. I remember driving down for 7 hours to it from my house - it felt like inhaling oxygen, didn't even notice it, an imaginary beautiful bird was carrying me along. I distinctly remember the feeling. I wish I could have a gift of turning my clunky righting into something palatable. But I do not have this talent. have no talents at all apparently. Talk about people created equally...
I am writing this while watching "Tales of Time" video ( hate it except for the 2-3 beautiful songs) Going to watch "Royal Tea Live from Ryman" after, to keep my faith in humanity.
Feeling grateful for becoming friends through Joe's music with Jane. Beautiful, fragile and grounding human connection.
one of the videos from that evening https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omp--5AD7Zg
- thinking about Michael, he was very kind and human during our limited and brief interactions, every time. Funny thing - he was the one who I ran to, to complain about my stolen winter coat after the indoor, very respectable Joe's concert in the middle of the snow storm - he just wrinkled his forehead and gave me the "look" lol (shut up, Gogol, I know!) RIP Michael...
Looking forward to new Joe's album. Not to Blues Deluxe 2. I already hate it. But the next one.... I know, it is going to be a miracle...
I put Royal Tea in the car CD player and I've been listening to it for the first time in a long time, with fresh ears. I'm liking it more than I remembered. I think a lot of his albums go in an arc of when I first get it, I love it; then my interest kind of fades and I feel "meh" about; then a few years later I come back to it, rediscover it and really like it again. It's an interesting pattern that I've noticed that with several of his albums. Not sure why that is, but it doesn't really matter. Digging Royal Tea with fresh ears.
"So What Would I Do" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K86g8CCPQ5A - amazing song, love it so much
