Topic: Joe interviewed by Soundwaves magazine...

We in CT and RI have had access to a magazine called Soundwaves for many a year. Now everyone has access with the mag being online. Serves the local music scene with interviews, gigs, perspectives, etc. The latest issue has a interview with Joe which may reveal a nugget or two about Joe and his plans for '08. Nice timing with Joe playing in New London later this week. Look forward to seeing Sun night Joe...

"JB: We’re actually making a world blues album next year and we’ll keep touring. We have gigs booked through October 2008. And then I’m going to take a break."

So what do you think that break will be?  Maybe 4 whole days? Or do you think he'll go all out and rest for a week?

Kidding aside, cool interview. Enjoyed reading it.

Sound waves is a great magazine and i just happen to have a copy on my desk right now.  Well see you Sunday night in New London.  I have a group that is meeting at Hannafins across the street if anyone wants to meet for a drink or 2 or.....  I was able to score 3rd row and cannot wait to see Joe again.

Hi Mark

Glad to see you will be in NL on Sun eve. My wife and I and another couple will be across the street at Hannafins also. I will look for Bona fan types! From the reviews on last nights triple bill it should be an interesting night. Sounds like they will play together for atleast one song at the end.

Hi Rhoovis,
Thanks for that link.  Interesting question about what you'd be doing if you weren't in music ...law enforcement...hmmm, the car is a good fit then, assuming white collar law enforcement...kidding ya' Joe...Like Cathy said, learn something new about Joe...Kayne West...I need to dig into that catalog, isn't he a rapper like Puffy or whatever his name is?

I was reading one of my son's books yesterday...Quotable Albert Einstein and was impressed by this comment.

"If I were not a physicist, I would probably be a musician.  I often think in music.  I live my daydreams in music.  I see my life in terms of music...I get most joy in life out of my violin."

Rhoovis,

Look for me I am about 5"10 pretty much bald and have an earing in one ear.  I will be there with my girlfriend, and the bass player and guitar player in my band, also the bass players wife.  See you there it should be smoking.....

Hi Angela,
That's funny.  The occupation statement about law enforcement caught my attention too.  It's hard to picture Joe in Law Enforcement. Glad he didn't have to make that decision.

Anyway, Kayne West is a rapper.  The music I've heard falls into the genre of hip hop.  It's not my thing, so as you may guess, his music is not in my ipod.  But, my heart goes out to him now, with the sudden & tragic death of his mother.  That's just terrible.

Thanks Rhoovis, great interview. I also liked the part where Joe said he'd probably be in law enforcement if he wasn't playing the guitar. It's ironic, because the first time I saw Joe, my thought was: There's a new sheriff in town!

Sorry, I can't imagine Joe in a uniform walking a beat. But he can pull me over and give me a ticket anytime. big_smile big_smile big_smile

Re: Joe interviewed by Soundwaves magazine...

lol lol lol  Funny Nancy!

So it hit a couple people funny!!!  Law enforcement could also be a detective, they wear business attire, think CSI, the Untouchables tongue, unless its like Miami Vice (Don Johnson)...then sometimes you can wear Hawaiin shirts...

Susan, I wasn't connecting all the dots when I made that post...VERY sad story about his mom and so unnecessary which has to make it harder.  Really tough way to lose your mom.  If I remember correctly, Kayne hosted one of the music awards or was performing alot, that's where I got my first dose of him, never checked him out again.  I think a fan (maybe NPB) said they liked his new CD. I'm open minded, I'm curious to check it out, it might be good work out music or something. big_smile Clapton likes some rap too.
