Topic: WHAT ARE THESE AMPS????

Hi fellow gear heads. The amps I am referring to are the Marshalls side by side in the picture at the bottom of this link.  They look like jcm900 i dunno.

Can someone tell me exactly what they are.

Thanks.

Re: WHAT ARE THESE AMPS????

I'd take a stab and think they're JCM900's from the HadToCryToday tour...

Re: WHAT ARE THESE AMPS????

They look really new, But then again Joe tends to get his hands on older gear that is in immaculate condition.  I own a JCM900 and the thing is an absolute beast, I love it, check out my post in the gear section on the forum to listen to soundclips.

Re: WHAT ARE THESE AMPS????

Those are JCM 1000 triple leads. That was a fly in show in OKC in 2004. One of them from a backline rental company the other on one from our local Guitar Center.

JCM1000's? Never heard of 'em. I've got a JCM2000 series though. "Triples" are known as TSL's in the UK. Is this a USA version?

What do I know I don't play guitar. Joe corrected me. They are JCM 2000's TSL.

Re: WHAT ARE THESE AMPS????

Thanks Joe, are they TSL's or DSL's? I never got on with the triples. Have you tried a Cornford Joe?. The handwired MK50 head is a bit of a tone monster. Just about the loudest 50watt head I've owned smile and has a very distinctive sound.

The picture was taken at an Oklahoma City show in 2004 that I promoted. It was when Joe met Robert Keeley.
Joe had to fly in for that show a show in Ardmore and Austin. I rented those for him to use on the mini tour from a backline company here. One of them fritzed out and a friend of mine at GC loaned us a brand new one in the box for that show. The local Guitar Center here are big fans of Joe's. He usually stops in when he is in town with enough time to shop.

Keeley and Joe met at another local music store that a friend of mine owns and demo'd an assortment of pedals.
On the You and Me album his Keeley compressor was fried and had Robert send out a new one. The guys at Keeley are great people.
