Re: Rest In Peace George Levine

I was so sad to hear of his passing today. I knew the end was near. We chatted online often and Helen and I even had a guided tour of Amsterdam with him as host when we visited after the Tour De Force week in London. He showed us the hidden nooks and crannies a tourist would never see, then we had dinner at a wonderful Indian restaurant. Happy times; how we’ll remember him best.
George was one of the first forum members I exchanged posts with here, and introduced me to a wealth of knowledge about Joe and his music.
He was brave and cheerful to the end, with his last defiant post against cancer just yesterday.
My condolences to all that shared in his love of Joe and knew him. Especially Cathy Siler who was very close to him.
He was a true fan from the early days and a wonderful person to know.
He’ll be missed terribly.
Rest in peace George.

My condolences to George's family ... and the BonaFamiy members here who go back a ways with George.  (I had the pleasure of our BonaPaths briefly crossing at two Joe shows in recent years.)

Rest In Peace George.

Re: Rest In Peace George Levine

So sorry to hear of this via FB today, - just came here to register my condolences and pay respect to a good man that I had many great conversations with on this forum.
Hope West Ham beat West Bromwich for him tomorrow in the FA Cup 4th round as it is old Hammer Bilic managing West Brom these days.

Re: Rest In Peace George Levine

I've only met George once, years and years ago. We got in touch at this forum, he was arranging front row tickets for the gig at Carré Amsterdam, and I was totally new at the forum but that didn't bother him at all. He got me tickets too. We met up before the show with a bunch of people at the "Magere Brug" café, and he was every bit as nice as I had assumed.

Wishing everybody who was close to him all the best.

Re: Rest In Peace George Levine

Oh boy this is a tough one to swallow. I never had the chance to meet him but we had a lot of fun here with NFL stuff, and he had exceptional taste in music. I do remember that we both adored Bonnie Raitt whom he referred to as The Goddess

RIP George, you were one of the great personalities here through the years
