Topic: Sloe Gin or Jack Daniels?

I absolutely LOVE the song Sloe Gin, but I've been thinking about the lyrics and it's sorta been bothering me.
Obviously, this  is a song about SEVERE loss and heartbreak, "Miss You, Hate You" kind of pain...where you feel "like you want to die" type pain.
Maybe it's just me, but I just can't picture a guy in that condition sitting in the corner drinking a Sloe Gin Fizz. Shouldn't he be drinking something like Jack Daniels or Johnny Walker?

Bill, in my mind, I substituted sloe gin with the 2 you mentioned, it didnt quite flow.....lol...!

Well Bill, around here they drink Chicken Whiskey "Makes the men cocky and the women want to lay"...What is the nationality of the song's author? Maybe they aren't as testosterone driven as American men? But, you have to admit, the way the words "Sloe Gin"feel coming out of your mouth lend themselves well to slurring! lol   Cathy

Yeah, this post was very "tongue in cheek". I know Sloe Gin "fits" the song much better than Jack Daniels, but I've never known ANYONE that's ever drowned their sorrows in Sloe Gin.
