Hey Curby;
Is this the mid-70s Kingfish (Bob Weir, Matthew Kelly on guitar and harmonica, Dave Torbert on bass, Robbie Hoddinott on guitar, and Chris Herold on drums.
Or the 2003 established Kingfish Band; STEVE MATZ - VOCALS / GUITAR; NATHAN NIEDERKORN - GUITAR / VOCALS; JEFFREY SCHOLFIELD - GUITAR / VOCALS; REBECCA NOTH - KEYS; JORDAN SMITH - BASS GUITAR; BRANDON LORENZ - PERCUSSION.
Or, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram who's debut album Kingfish came out last week?

Either way, win/win/win

Door number 3, young Christone Ingram aka Kingfish. Like I said last week his new album pumps new blood
into the Blues genre. He reminds me of a young Buddy Guy, sassy and gifted in his playing. This is not a blues by the numbers collection. I'd love to catch him at the Rum Boogie in Memphis....and maybe will.
This is a fine blues album. Such talent for a 20 year old . He definitely has been soaking up all the legends and really has an uncanny feel for the blues.
Outstanding !!
Cheers Curby; your recommends always give me a couple of hours happy searching & exploring, and a "nod" from Gary seals the deal. Having me some of that album...
I always have a hard time telling my son about new players he might not know of, this one went poorly as well because he has heard him from way back when. He said he has played with Eric Gales some, Middle of the Road release. I really enjoyed Outside of This Town, may not be a new one, good stuff and will watch for him if he gets close to Birmingham
The link Mike posted is I think the only official video off the album Kingfish. Though it is a fine song, there are many more much better IMO off the album Kingfish.
There have been many new blues albums released that just don’t intrigue me like they used to. Not saying they’re bad records just not my cup of tea. This album, however, just possesses all the elements I hold dear listening to the blues as it should be played.
My good friend Jdog (occasionally posts on here) made an interesting observation over on t'other board. This release comes 50 years after Johnny Winter's debut and is causing just as much "buzz" in the Blues/Rock community.
I'm hooked, thought you might like some of this, what I'm listening to now

Most very young blues phenoms, like Joe B,have come via the way of spectacular guitar playing. I see with Kingfish more of the total package.Sure he is an excellent player, but his feel and vocal sound and delivery are so authentic. You just can’t find that sound in someone near his age.
If you played that to someone not knowing who he is I bet if they like blues they will love his music. Then tell him his age and they will be astounded.
Wow!......Im all in on this kid, I totally dig his skills.....20 years old too
This is pretty awesome playing....

Thanks for this...I will e going to the Grog Shop in Cleveland!

He can play for sure. But follows the path of focusing on the blues more than just guitar. So I would say if you were expecting the guitar workout style you would be a little disappointed.
For a young man I think he gets the actual blues vibe more than most. He does sing about it being an old soul in a young body.It is that without a doubt.
Thinking of the last couple of posts on Kingfish, I think I might agree that his album is more quietly recorded, but that's what appeals to me. Not every new artist has to be a guitar god to be successful. If you listen to my earlier post of the three "In the Van" videos I'll think you'll hear he can shred quite capably.
