Re: Chart position

"Blues rock phenomenon Joe Bonamassa goes back to basics for Redemption, which consists of a dozen new self-penned roots tracks from the 41-year-old guitarist/singer from New York. Debuting at No.7 (9,275 sales), it is Bonamassa’s sixth Top 10 album in all, a tally that includes one as a member of Black Country Communion, and another in collaboration with Beth Hart. Redemption is his 24th Top 75 album in total, since he broke his duck with Sloe Gin in 2007, and his third this year, following Hart collaboration Black Coffee (No.7 in February) and live set British Blues Explosion Live (No.21 in May). No one has managed to register as many chart albums as Bonamassa since his debut."

Re: Chart position

Didn’t realize that number 7 in the charts at 9000 units sold
I haven’t paid attention to chart sales for a long time.Seems the show how dismal physical sales are now.

Oh yeah, it's been like that for years.  10k copies will often get you #1.  A lot rides on the first week, too.  It's pretty common for an album to be in the top 10 for a week or two and then vanish from the charts.  It's just a different world than 30 years ago.

If anyone didn't understand why Target stocked 3 copies of Redemption per store, this is it . I'm honestly surprised they had more than 1 copy per store.

Redemption is #1 on the german album charts

Re: Chart position

Well I got mine and am thrilled to have it.  Am sure the actual CD market is low but on the other hand it's always nice to have a physical copy.
