Redemption is one GREAT album. Joe is the best!!!!
My CD has been dispatched, so hopefully arrive in a few days.
I get the impression it’s more Blues than Rock.

I would not say it’s more blues than rock probably only 2-3 songs true traditional type blues
I've finally had a chance to listen through a couple times, I'm *really* digging it. My top 5 so far (and it's hard to pick just 5 favorites):
Self-Inflicted Wounds
Stronger Now In Broken Places
Just 'Cos You Can Don't Mean You Should
King Bee Shakedown
Pick Up The Pieces
I also love Molly O, Evil Mama, Ghost of Macon Jones...
There isn't a bad song on the record, though. Joe is on an absolute roll. I've thought every record since (and including) Different Shades of Blue has been his best, and this carries on the trend. The title track is probably my least favorite song on the record, interestingly, but it's still cool.
Redemption seems to be his most bluesy effort in a long time, but there are a lot of influences present to keep it interesting. His writing continues to be strong. The record sounds great, too, as expected. The arrangements, production, and mix are all top-notch. Definitely a highlight album of the year so far.
As for the Target bonus tracks, I *really* like Black Roses. That's a killer song. I also like the 'full band' version of 'Stronger Now In Broken Places'. It's a really nice complement to the acoustic & sparse album version, just to hear how the same song can be done so differently.

I have to agree. I’ve had two full listens so far and can’t pick a “best”.
Enormous, huge Thank you to Guido Hogendoorn who posted this on FB fan page: Joe introduces and talks about each song from "Redemption" on SiriusXM radio
Brilliant and thanks for posting.

Well to say I love this album would be an understatement so many great songs. Every time I play it I find something new and really can't pick a favorite. Truly relate to a few of them on a personal level. I have the Bonus CD so have been able to hear all of the songs :-). Just a quick question: "Am I the only one who hears a hint of Dr. John in Evil Mama"?

Love this song, video is so cool ( ahrrr... how can one be so astonishingly cool and charismatic?.. you all know who am I talkin about }
Just a thought: can easily imagine Joe landing part in a movie.

No no no no
Rock ON & Keep The Faith,
Rocket
It’s a great CD to listen to, not too keen on “mind over matters” but everything else is great.
I would have liked at least one (long) guitar solo.
There’s no track that really stands out but that’s probably because they are all so good.
I’m more accepting of the horns and backing vocals on this CD, although I personally would like to see a return to a three/four piece band next time round.
As per usual, Caveman has done a great job putting it all together.
Certainly his best work with the current line-up.

I do like the way the horns and back up singers are used on This album.
Great album! I am also up for a power trio or 4 piece set up as well.
In a way it doesn’t seem to matter as it’s all been great
No trio only as one off in my city. Same with 4 piece. Well, maybe a quartet doesn’t have to play in my town...but still a one off.
Now to get serious: Pump UP THE Irchestra. That way the Entertainment Event is highest class, highest value per high valued currency denomination anywhere. Albums are cheap. Live Entertainment is not.
Whatever Crossroads taken or forsaken, Rock ON I know is guaranteed and the cell phones will have some tales spreading like autumn leaves to the cyber four winds.
Rock ON & DO ENJOY The Redemtption & Keep The Faith,
Rocket
