Topic: Joe and John Lee

Hi everybody,
I just saw a television programme that Andre had sent me (I think Michael recorded it...) called "Blues Boy" - it´s about Joe at the age of 13 ...          (I must have been 5 years old when this programme was made wink).

Anyway - I remebered a post in the "Other Artists" section where someone asked which ONE artist we would like to see perform together with Joe ... and I wrote "John Lee Hooker - if he was still alive".
But the thing I didn´t know was that Joe had already performed together with John Lee Hooker - AT THE AGE OF 13! It was so cool to see them both standing on that stage and John Lee Hooker shouting something like "Man, look at that kid!" ....
Well, Joe isn´t a kid anymore, but B.B. King and John Lee Hooker had the nose for the right thing (can you say that?!) when they let Joe share the stage with them!
After the "Blues Boy" documentery I watched a recording of "Woke up dreaming" for the 1000. time (speechless in admiration as usual) and suddenly was so happy that Joe wasn´t born in 1920 wink   ... like Roy always says: "The best guitar player/singer ever" - and nearly all of us have got the chance to see him play at least once a year - I only wish that I could have seen John Lee Hooker play, too...

Eva

P.S.: Andre, thank you again! smile

Re: Joe and John Lee

Eva, although you're young you have an old soul! JLH was a great showman for sure. Bonnie Raitt brought him on tour with her in the 70's and turned a new generation onto him! It's proof that good music is eternal! You are a true Blues Babe!!      Cathy

Re: Joe and John Lee

No thanks Eva,

You are a wonderful  bluesfan, who knows much more about blues and  bluesrock than any of your age, I know.

And this lovely girl/woman becomes 23 this Sunday!!
