Topic: Self Inflicted Wounds is beautiful!

OMG! This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard in my 64 years of life! Joe, this song is off the charts! So touching.

I do not post here as much as I should, but I had to post my love for this beautiful song here so hopefully Joe will read this.

I have been a fan since 2005 and this is the best for me. And your voice is just getting better every year! How do you do it?
I just love you to death. I sure hope you love what you do, cause I “LOVE” what you do.
I wish you all the success in the world!

Yeah, I really dig this song.  A lot.  Each one released is better than the last.

I know I always sound melodramatic on this forum but  don't know better way to say t: this song and this album profoundly affecting and changing me. Powerful. I feel Joe's music in my blood.

+1!

"You know, it's just that people like this... you know... they get all they want so they really don't understand, you know... about a life like Frank's. I mean, when you've loved and lost the way Frank has, then you, uh, you know what life's about."

When Joe play this live, Jade MacRae sang at the end of it and my wife said it gave her chills.

It is indeed a thrill when Joe personally acknowledges you. i go back to the JBXP days. I had seen Joe live and talked to him back at the bus several times after shows. After one particular show, when I was with my husband and friends and talked to him back at the bus, I shook hands with him, told him how much I enjoyed the show and how much I appreciated how hard he works. As we parted, he looked at me and said "thank you, Donna". How he knew my name, I have no idea. I'll never forget it, my husband and friends were blown away and we still talk about it to this day.

Yeah he got my name after first few meets and I was shocked. nowadays so many more fans.I don't know how he does it.
His talents are far beyond just his music and awesome smile!!!

Listening to the song again, great song but man its depressing! I like reflecting like that personally but I hope my redemption comes with some happy blues too big_smile and I mean the music...it really pulls me down down, but its good...just sayin. Too powerful for casual listen for me

Yes, Joe has an amazing awareness and appreciation for his fans even now that's he's a star! He knows how important that fan base is in many ways besides ticket sales. There are so many stories I could tell about the things he's done for his fans that few know about. He seems to have held on to that humility that sometimes disappears with fame. This song is incredible. It's been said many times before, but I'll say it again- he just keeps getting better and better.

"Self Inflicted Wound" LYRICS

You got a lot of nerve blaming someone else for your mistakes
You got a lot of nerve to bopping up your head when you can't carry your weight
Yeah, it's a put on another late night show
Yeah, it's a put on pretending you don't know

The self inflicted wounds
You did it on your own
Yeah, you were first to draw the knife
Last to throw the stone
Oh, the trust in me, I have abused
Oh, take mercy on my
Self inflicted wounds

You never get away with trying to tell yourself one of your own lies
You never get away holding back those tears trying not to cry
Darling, hold on
Let me try to explain
Darling, hold on
Try to own all this pain

The self inflicted wounds
I did em on my own
I was first to draw the knife
Last to throw the stone
Oh, the trust in me, I have abused
Oh, take mercy on my
Self inflicted wounds

I'm looking for redemption
I'm praying for forgiveness
I searched around
But there's none to be found

Self inflicted wounds
I did em on my own
You were the first to draw the knife
Last to draw the stone
Oh, the trust in me, I have abused
Oh, have mercy on my
Self inflicted wounds
Oh, have mercy on my
Self inflicted wounds
