Debating about going to G3 in a couple weeks. Not really into Petrucci. I'd like to see Satch for the first time but I've heard his live shows can be dull. I do think it'd be cool to see Phil Collen solo. Tickets aren't cheap and it's going to be an awful lot of notes, I'm not sure I'll make it through the whole night (saying this as a guitar player and guitar fan). Any feedback one way or another? Anyone catch the current lineup?
Been talked into trying a new genre on Saturday (27th Jan) night - Steam Punk/Folk.
North east band Driven Serious at Newcastle O2 Academy
Ballad of Bones - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVc_Hv043w4
Sinking Sand - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDbND4b279E
Dharma Streams - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ow4wSkvypk
Should be a bargain night - Driven Serious + Moonlight Grove + Bubamara + The Pastures; all for £5
Bit of an odd pairing, but good value double-header:-
Wille & The Bandits + Sean Webster @ Hartelpool Supporters - 17th Feb.
Just got back from seeing Sons of Apollo last night - what an incredible show. If you're a fan of progressive hard rock or metal, definitely check them out. No weak links in that band, that's for sure.
3/18/18 Michael Schenker Fest, Milwaukee, WI
23rd Feb: Chantel McGregor @ Darlington; Forum
Magnum tomorrow and The Temperance Movement on Friday. Both in Aberdeen.
9th March - Stevie Nimmo Trio (+ one) @ Darlington Forum
Brit Floyd Bridgewater Hall Manchester
Rolling Stones Murrayfield Edinburgh
Eagerly awaiting both.
Saw The Eagles in Indianapolis tonight. Was nearly 3 hours long with three encores. Last one “Desperado.” Vince Gill has joined the band along with Deacon Frey singing some of his dad’s songs. We had bad seats and asshats in front of us, but the band delivered.
Next gigs;
16th Feb - Dan Patlansky @ Newcastle Cluny
17th Feb - Rebecca Downes @ Mickleton Blues Club
Joe tonight in Aberdeen.
Embarassingly there are rows and rows of empty seats. At least 500 I reckon.

What are you talking about? It is 4 more hours before the concert. Is venue open already?

Ticketmaster says so. Don't need to be in the venue. They were trying to sell them half price a few days ago.
