Whole problem is Epiphone already has a V with almost same spec
But a whole lot less $$$
Granted not an Amos clone

This is the logic I'm using to justify adding a Silver Jubilee to my setup...

"The story of 'Amos'
t was in 1958, during the infancy of rock and roll, that Arthur took a chance on a new, angular electric guitar. It didn’t have the gently rounded body that had been the industry standard for more than a century.

The new guitar was almost immediately lambasted as ugly.

Arthur ordered one in spite of the initial negative reaction, predicting the futuristic-looking instrument would be a fun conversation piece and draw customers to the store.

The Flying V that Gibson sent to Arthur’s store — serial number 8-2857 — was among the first made in a run of only 81 the company shipped to dealers in 1958. Only a few more would be made before production stopped in 1959."

if you did get them.. you'd have to remove the pickups from the guitar and add these

At the end of the day... still an Epiphone! I am sure it is a nice guitar, but the only Epis I would consider would be the pre-Gibson era ones.

Amp: Firebird Musical Amplifiers

Yeah, gotta agree on this one. I did pick up a Sheraton a few months ago to hold me over until I find a Historic 335. But I get why they do the Epi line. How else will most people afford a JB signature guitar?

Yeah I understand the Epiphone business model. They build cheap guitars for those who can't or won't spend the dough. I was there at one point. It is a needed niche. What I don't understand is the need for signature gear to begin with. I am not judging people who are into that, just not for me, especially with the added money involved.

I'm OK with that, mainly because I use some signature gear from EVH brand. LOL And I do own both a EVH wah and a JB wah. They are voiced differently so  I like that. Although I prefer the EVH one, such a nice sweep!

Re: The Epiphone Joe Bonamassa 1958 "Amos" Korina Flying-V 2017/2018

If I think I wanted a V
I would buy the 'plain Epiphone Korina V  which is a lot cheaper.
Then buy the Seymour Duncan Amos pickups.

I think that would be a closer sound than Epiphone Amos with Epiphone pickups

Agreed. I was tempted, but have decided to stick with Plan A which is to save for a Gibson ES335 this year...
