amazing, thanks Cat. Dave is one of the premier jazz drummers in the world today, plays a lot with Mike Stern but is highly sought after by others. Not easy stuff to replicate, think Vinny C as a comparison in style. the kid has a bright future to say the least.

yw smile I am going to keep my eye on "Little Dude" because someday I going to have to learn his name.

Well since you mentioned Vinnie C, how is this for a Trio?

I met Dave Weckl a few times.  2 times with Steve Smith.  That was back in the day, and that is when Steve had hair too smile.  Steve Smith is one of the most humblest guys.  He is such a sweetheart.

I am so glad Brack started this thread.  Love to hear all that is going on in the Drummer World.
And I already love Philip.  Will check out Wayne Proctor on Wilson T Kings record.

Thanks for the add. That young man is a seriously accomplished drummer. I love his casual flair as he tosses the sticks with nary a missed beat. True musical gifts in this family.

Re: Drummers Corner

Just transferring my list of my top 10 drummers - from the 'New Drummers Corner' Topic - others might like to do the same, as i will be deleting the New Drummers Corner Topic in a day or so.  Cheers

My list changes from time to time

I too would put Neil Peart (The Gov'nor) at #1 - the rest, in no order
Steve Gadd
Bill Bruford
John Bonham
Mike Portnoy
Dave Grohl
Simon Kirke
Phil Collins
José Pasillas
Carl Palmer

Re: Drummers Corner

So, here is my 're-posted' ten.

Just to say I've met Wayne Proctor a couple of times and he is a seriously nice bloke. The last time he was just playing the Cajon for Ian Parker as a duo.

He has very good credits as a producer too alongside his drumming career. Great guy and a very capable drummer.

Subjective thing of course. It is people I've seen that have given the Wow! factor, so I listed in order of the Wow!

1. Neil Peart
2. Johnny Bee Badanjek
3. Tim Biery
4. John Bonham
5. Cozy Powell
6. Liberty di Vitto
7. Mike Portnoy
8. Simon Phillips
9. Carl Palmer
10. Brian Downey (you can't say Wow! with Downey but he justs makes everything look so unhurried and that is art)

Don't forget a couple of years with Oli Brown too; as well as current occupancy of drums kit for Nimmo Bros and King King.

Come to think of it, they should do a Blues Producer award sometime; Wayne's C.V. as producer on UK Blues albums over the last 10-15years is impressive.
