Topic: After Show Stickers

As I understand, special stickers were required to stay after the Cleveland HOB's show for a meet & greet with Joe. This makes a lot of sense as Joe's star continues to rise and the 300 person show becomes 1000 or 1500 or even more. It is difficult or impossible for Joe to stay and sign autographs if even half the people stay afterwards. Then there is the incident where, as I understand it, a fan grabbed Joe by the arm. I'm not sure that you'll ever be able to stop stupidity, but narrowing the number of people should also narrow the number of idiots that would do something like that.
I am assuming this will be the norm as Joe's popularity grows.

We were evicted from the HOB's in Chicago last night, 10 minutes after showtime.
I am uncertain, but at least one post in the Show Review section seems to indicate that Joe made an aftershow appearance. If that is true, there were at least a half dozen of the biggest Joe fans you'd ever care to meet that were shown the door last night. This is not a criticism, but an early observation because I feel pretty sure that was not the intent.

I have always known that the Street Team work that I've done was counterproductive from a personal standpoint. As Joe's popularity grows it becomes more difficult to get good seats, more crowded getting in and out of shows and less and less feasible for Joe to meet fans afterwards. This has never bothered me because (for some unknown reason) I want everyone I meet to know about (IMO) the greatest musical talent in the world today.
I understand that this process is in it's infancy and that there will be some kinks to work out. If this is going to be the norm for Joe's shows, I'm sure there will be questions from Street Team members and the rest of the faithful here.
Obviously, the main question is going to be: How do I get on the list??

bill, did you find out how theses people got on the list . i'm sure there was some offer with the tickets some kind of vip package that included meeting joe . you might want to look into that and then let others know how to do it ....joe

Re: After Show Stickers

It might be a good idea, to have someone standing by ( bodyguard?) just in case the band does decide to come out for a greet. Maybe the venues should work with the band in any such case. Maybe let a few fans at a time get there chance to say hello, a lottery?....ok...I know that sounds stupid. Just trying to make it fair!

Re: After Show Stickers

Hi, Bill.  This question arose after Thursday night's House of Blues show in Cleveland, under the 'Show Reviews & Set Lists' category.  To reiterate, though, the after-show stickers were HOB-produced & implemented, and given--by the HOB--to those who were on the band/crew guest list as well as the local radio guest list.  Security did not make those people with the after-show stickers leave immediately after the show, thus allowing for--but not guaranteeing--the chance to meet Joe afterward.  I'm guessing it was the same way at the Chicago HOB.*

*But, I don't know 'cause I had to cancel the 3-shows-in-3-days road trip that I had planned... dammit!!!!

Re: After Show Stickers

Ok, Patty, thanks; I wish we were at the shows, though!  Originally, I planned to go from Cleveland to Chicago to Milwaukee, then back home on Sunday.  Three shows in three days would have made for the perfect birthday weekend for Nico; however, my good friend since kindergarten came up from Atlanta for this weekend & needed some help with something so I decided to stick around.  I'm not sure what commentary it makes on my loyalty to long-time friends, but I really had to think hard about missing 2 Joe shows in favor of spending time with a friend of 34 years that I only see about once or twice a year.

Shred, Nico would happily stow away on Joe's bus & enjoy shows day after day without giving us another thought! :-)

Melissa,
First of all, you sound like a wonderful friend. Even though you were tempted by the lure of another Joe show, you made the right decision to help a friend in need.
Sorry we missed you in Chicago.
I did read the other thread re: Cleveland, which is partly how I knew about this. I first heard about it last night, while talking to a few other street team members before the show. Like I said, I am not sure if this is just a HOB's policy so they can clear out the crowds or if this will need to become normal for all of Joe's shows now or in the future.
I just brought it up because it became a topic of discussion last night between the street team members at the show.
