I am so Heartbroken. One on my all time favorites and our St Louis legend passed away today. I was lucky to have seen him play nearly 50 times... Mostly at the Blueberry Hill in St Louis. Gonna be a rough few days for all his fans. RIP Mr. Berry. Hope you find NADINE!

Admittedly, he wasn't at his best most of the times I seen him, but he was in his 80's for most of those shows and just being in the room with him surreal. Sure he had some baggage - some pretty heavy, but musically he was a pioneer.
I'm pretty sure Kenny Wayne Shepherd is playing St Louis tonight. Wonder if he'll do a tribute?

He did and I saw it on f/b but can't find it now. Johnny B. Goode done very well.Found it. It's on Kenny's facebook page.
I saw Chuck way back when I was 16 at the local Summer Hop. A true legend. What a life! JBG is on the Voyager as an example of our culture headed to the stars. RIP

I had a friend tell me that KWS visited the Chuck Berry statue in the Delmar Loop after the show as well.

Was just re-watching Hail! Hail! Rock 'N' Roll last night ... and the memorable part where Mr. Berry "rides" Keith Richards on Oh Carol. Sounds like Joe did it at the Tribute just the way Chuck was "schooling" Keith on how he should to play it ... back in '86.
