Topic: Davey Knowles Sutter Creek Theater, CA 4/1

Davey Knowles is coming to the Sutter Creek Theater in Northern CA on April 1st. This is not an April Fools joke. It's for real. A great opportunity to see him in a small venue. Only 215 seats in the theater. Get tickets now so you don't miss out.   I got my tickets on March 1. Go to suttercreektheater.com to purchase tickets. See you at the show in my Hoax t-shirt!

Nice to hear from you David! I've got tix for the Napa show and may hit The Mill Valley or SF show too. Last saw Davy play the Tuesday Bluesday Series in Squaw Valley last summer. Really fun time!

Pat, I highly recommend the Blue Note gig in Napa. I haven't seen a show there, but did go in to see the place last time I was in town. It's very cool, with some high end food goin' on.

Pat, the place is no bigger than Biscuits & Blues, but more open feeling since its on the street level, not in a basement like Biscuits. Davy was very loud, but clean. The second show wasn't sold out so we were invited to stay. The 4 of us ate dinner and it was outstanding. Their exec chef Jessica Sedlacek trained under Thomas Keller up the road at The French Laundry in Yountville. Prices were way more down to earth though. Great venue for dinner and a show!

Sounds like the blue note deal is worth keeping an eye on....I did go to Sutter Creek for Albert Cummings back in January....the place is an 1900's theater...the owners don't seem to care about making the place attractive i.e. wires hanging and laying all over, the storeroom for the snack bar is behind the stage curtain so the owner is going behind the curtain all through the show to get cases of water and such...it was really kinda funny one time, Albert stopped and watched the curtain moving around during one of the owners forays for supplies....they should do something different as it was so distracting that I really don't want to return there....

Sutter Creek is definitely lost in time. A couple of friends took over a downtown bar there in the mid '70s and I went up there a few times. Fast forward to last year when I met some friends there for lunch before we went over to The Jackson Rancheria Casino to see Blackberry Smoke. Very little had changed in Sutter Creek in the 40 years since I'd last been there. I think they like it that way!
