Topic: Benedum Center Pittsburgh

I see there are tickets left for the show 3/3/16

I may want to get a couple of tickets, but I  can't seem to see what is available through the seating chart and I don't want them to just give me two tickets without me knowing where they are before I buy.

Anybody have any ideas that has been to this place before.

That may, singularly, be the worst seating chart I've ever seen. I missed the Spring show sales dates and I'm looking to buy tickets there too but will hit the secondary market if no one is selling as we get closer. Whirlwind I'll be interested to see if you find anything out about this venue.

I am assuming nobody here has ever been to this venue....totally agree about that seating chart

.
This used to be called the "Stanley" Theater....I saw many many shows there back in the day....in fact it was the place to go to.
-the first deck-mezz-that extends over the seats were excellent seats especially if you got the 1st row up there.

Maybe you could try calling the box office. They could probably tell you better what is available. This is where we saw Joe for the first time in May of 2012. We were way up in the balcony since we bought our tickets late. Not the best seats since we were surrounded by talkers and the sound was not ideal in the beginning. But it did improve. For the shows this coming March I believe we are in the first couple rows down on the floor.

Re: Benedum Center Pittsburgh

Thanks...maybe I can call monday and see if they have any seats in the first deck mezz that are towards the front

Much appreciated...thanks again.

Re: Benedum Center Pittsburgh

Norton, if you keep looking there is a more detailed seating chart on the site, but it is hard to find!

Whirlwind, did you also go to Columbus and Youngstown?  Great meeting you in Ohio a couple years ago and having dinner.  I have been to the Benedum a number of times.  Like Natasha, my first Joe show was there in May 2012.  I accidentally ran into the band on their way back to the bus post-show - what a rush.  Anyway, I got my tickets for that show through PBS and got row E, pretty good but my seat was last on the far right by the wall, so I could never even see Carmine.  Anyway, the Benedum box office is 412/456-6666.  Good luck!  Let us know.

We went to the Columbus show at the Palace Theatre, but not the show in Youngstown.

Thank you for the phone number, much appreciated  smile

Thanks Sally. I'll look for it. I'm still sort of hoping as it gets closer there might be good tickets either open up or some will be disposed of by people that can't go. I'll go either night if good tickets appear.

Re: Benedum Center Pittsburgh

Thank you so much everybody.

I just got off the phone with a wonderful lady at the Benedum Center ticket office that fixed me up with two tickets
in the directors circle, left center third row back from the railing...it is the lower balcony seating....I was hoping for the first row , but heck...seems like the seats will still be pretty good.

Will make for a great weekend for my wife and I as it is a friday night, so we plan on spending the night after the show.

Thanks again, everybody for your help.  smile

Re: Benedum Center Pittsburgh

Finally getting around to posting about the shows at the Benedum. Joe played 2 nights and it was a wonderful treat to have different setlists each night. On the first night it was songs from his recent album releases and 2 from the British Blues show last summer. On the second night he removed some songs and replaced them with a few more of the British Blues stuff. I filmed the whole first night and the 4 songs from the second that didn't feature in the first. Took a bunch of photos the second night as well. I felt bad for Joe the first night because he was having some amp issues as well as not feeling well. By the end of the show he had enough with the amp and pushed it over and then placed his guitar on top of it. He was laughing when he did it and had Mike take a photo of it which he later posted on instagram. Glad he could make light of it because I know it had to have been frustrating. Those old amps are cranky and every now and then they blow. Kind of funny during Hummingbird because you can see the amp on its side as he is playing. Don't see that too often. The second night he was in better spirits, everything was working properly and the crowd was quite energetic. He kept thanking everyone because he said he really needed the pick me up. I had hoped the medicine he was taking for his sinus infection was finally helping him, but as it turned out, he still was quite sick. Don't know how he played as well as he did considering how he had been feeling. Give him a lot of credit for hanging in there. I really enjoyed both nights, but the setlist the second night is my favorite. I absolutely love the instrumental "Black Winter" that he does. It's different every time and is truly the highlight for me. I also really love the new arrangements of the British Blues songs and Dustbowl. Personally I think the British stuff sounds better than when we saw it last summer. The addition of the horns, the girls backup voices and Mike playing rhythm really improve these songs. On the first night "I Gave Up Everything For You" was really cool because he did a bit of Yes's "Heart of the Sunrise" during his solo. Hearkens back to long ago when he used to do this quite a bit.
Here are the songs from the first night:

Yes, I was in the front row of the pit on the left side. Love venues that aren't involved with Ticketmaster because you have a much better chance of getting good up front seats.

funny you didn't get a vid of him pushing it over.. looks like at the end of How Many More Times he wanted to.. and sometime before you start Hummingbird it's "belly up"

(If only I had 1% of Joe's guitar talent)

I concentrated on the songs he played. Joe was having a tough time that night what with the amp not working and him not feeling well. Didn't feel right to film his frustrations for all the world to see for eternity. I wouldn't want someone filming me when I was having a bad time. Some things are better left undocumented.
