Re: Best single amp for a Bonamassa tone ?

Great clip Ian. Thank's for the pan to Bernie and catching the jaw-drop.

Re: Best single amp for a Bonamassa tone ?

Didn't Joe frequently use a Marshall JCM2000 Dsl100 for fly in gigs, I know he also used a Marshall Vintage Modern rig on at least a few occasions.

Both are great amps and can be found on ebay for not too much money.

I know you asked for amp suggestions, but seriously look at the Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret. Amazing amp-in-a-pedal Marshall tone.

Re: Best single amp for a Bonamassa tone ?

I've tried many amps including every Marshall model. And I've tried many OD pedals.
Weehbo are the best OD pedals made.
I'm using a Weehbo JCM Drive LTD through a Marshall 1974X and never has better tone.
I can get Bonamassa tone with no problem. And many more.

Re: Best single amp for a Bonamassa tone ?

Hi folks
Sorry I didn't really keep up with this thread. Thanks for all the answers and suggestions.

I got a Carol Ann Texas 25 a few weeks ago. I guess it's the closest thing to what I what I was looking for.
It's really a great amp, and the OD is fantastic as you could imagine. The clean is amazing as well. I just struggle a bit with the fx loop, which is quite noisy as soon as I plug something into it (but my pedals are probably the culprits here).

I still like my first rig very much (Egnater Tweaker set to clean and Tone city Model M) and will probably keep using it for most gigs as it's cheaper, lighter and quiet. It gets me very close to the tones I'm looking for.

Now the next step is to upgrade my guitar ; )

Cheers
