Re: Live at the Greek NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY!

I saw this question on another artist page asking people if they thought the nomination should have been under contemporary or traditional. I know it doesn't really matter but just wondering what you guys think

Dont need a helmet to get me through life-walk across the water blame it on foolish pride.

Given that the material being played was traditional blues songs from Albert King, BB King and Freddie King featuring an 11 piece blues band with singers and horns, I think it makes sense that they put it in the Traditional category. Had it been one of Joe's solo albums, it would have definitely been in the contemporary category.

Re: Live at the Greek NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY!

Im so glad this is nominated it really should win in this catergory. for one it may not be be Joe's Best show ever (real close tho) but it sure was his most Fiercest and Stylish Performance in front of rolling cameras, was it the band he mentions was it the classy camera angles and zoom ins and stage pans, so cool by philip klose and his team or was it the songs so electified and arranged so punchy . all in all it is i believe his best concert put on dvd/blu ray for the masses not just for the singular viewer. ps i will always love The Borderline & Vienna Acoustic shows but this is truly epic in production with the intensity of The Small intimate shows like Mr Kyps, Beaver Creek & The Cavern.

I really do hope the panel see and feel that from this Live DVD
,
it is a stunning live capture of a Rockin' Blues Show

Thanks Patty!  Truly an honor to be nominated again.  Actually, although a disappointment, I'm still a huge fan of Joe Bonamassa and to me that's a self-appointed award that a Gramny every year for decades couldn't make me happier about! big_smile
