Re: House of Blues Chicago Show-Nov. 2nd

i just got the regular tickets.  they all said ga on ticketmaster one said gold circle ga the other said just ga.  oh well id like to stand anyway so id probably be out of place in the gold circle.  so you think joe will probably go on around nine?  i think we will try to get there around 8 30 with plenty of time for joe and a good spot but not a lot of standing around time maybe enough for a drink or two

I think Joe at more like 10:15-10:30. Crosby Loggins at nine.

Re: House of Blues Chicago Show-Nov. 2nd

Lee,
I've never taken advantage of early entry. The last show I saw there (Gregg Allman) my daughter and I were in the balcony. We entered at the normal "doors open" time and the place was relatively light. The balcony area was almost empty, but people on the main floor were sparse and were milling around (no rush for the stage). It didn't get crowded until a half hour before showtime. There were a good many people that didn't walk in until an hour after the show started (Devon Allman's band opened, so they missed a good opening). I was really surprised.
I gotta believe that it will be similar for Joe, in that early entry may not be totally necessary. Doors open at 7:30PM and the show doesn't start until 9PM.
That said, if I had time to have dinner there and get early access, I probably would. I've only eaten there once. The food was OK, but a bit overpriced for what you got.
Suhl,
The show starts at 9PM (Crosby Loggins). I was told that Joe will not come on until 10:15 to 10:30PM.

The food at HOB is just OK, much better places within walking distance. I have never been to the Chicago HOB where there was seating,  That's why I thought the Golden circle O friends was the side balconys

The Balcony is an Xcellent place to see/hear a show plus there is a no smoking policy now.

Maggioano's is a 10, I am thinkin Rosebud steakhouse voted one of the best hamburgers in Chicago,

Follow up.........

I just called their dinner reservation line at 312-923-2018 and the nice lady said that the restaurant was open on Friday night, Nov. 2. She really couldn't tell me why I couldn't make an online reservation. I made a reservation for 2 at 6:00 pm, may change it to 5:00.

The main reason I'm interested in dinner there is for their "Pass The Line" policy. Has anyone - Bill S. perhaps - taken advantage of this policy?

Lee,

I just made a dinner reservation for HOB at 6:00 pm too. Wanted the kids to see the club and let them pick out some trinkets at the HOB store. They do allow children in for dinner and it's within walking distance of the hotel were at. Hey, want to hear something funny? When I told Dawn the change of plans she said, "Well, we're taking a cab." So I said, "A cab? What for, it's only 4 or 5 blocks from the hotel." To which she responds, "For an experience for the kids!" Now, a cab ride for an experience in downtown Chicago? Now you know why I call her "The One Who Must Be Obeyed"! But I am not taking any darn cab for the "experience"!! I'll probably be walking by myself. lol

Roy

Oh Roy!
You don't really want to deprive the kids of a crazy Chicago cab ride, weaving in & out of traffic, going the wrong way down one way streets, doing 20 miles over the 30 mph speed limit, the aroma of body odor from someone who smells like they haven't bathed in a month or so, do you??
(my apologies to the cabbies who actually shower occasionally).
I'll be at the HOB's bar by 6/6:30PM, hopefully....I'm gonna walk too.
