Topic: Joe Bonamassa Signature Fender High Power Tweed Twin.

Seems like this will be a thing being released next year.  Joe has put a picture up of a signature Celestion (JB-85) that will be used in the amp. https://twitter.com/JBONAMASSA/status/8 … 1609706500

Then there was this picture from a couple of months back https://twitter.com/JBONAMASSA/status/7 … 4493271040 (JB Proto-2)

And I've just found this Facebook post from August. https://www.facebook.com/JoeBonamassa/p … 4736754659

Seems like this would be quite interesting, off the top of my head I don't believe there has been a reissue of the HP Tweed Twin (from Fender at least).

Re: Joe Bonamassa Signature Fender High Power Tweed Twin.

I saw this too and I have been on the market for a new amp and I think I may hold off until I see what this turns out to be...may be too much power for my needs but I am hoping...LOL

2008 Gibson Les Paul Traditional Goldtop (with the cream plastic from the 58RI)

Re: Joe Bonamassa Signature Fender High Power Tweed Twin.

An HP Twin is a 100 watter, right? The one they call the evil twin?

No such thing as too much POW in power!

I'll take the first one (or second if Joe nabs the first for hisself!) and stand back when I don't hold back!!!  WHOA! big_smile

A high power tweed is 80 watts, and a low power tweed is 40 watts.

And today on twitter we get another image of the prototype. https://twitter.com/JBONAMASSA/status/8 … 6786300929

Re: Joe Bonamassa Signature Fender High Power Tweed Twin.

nice...so how are we talking about estimated???

Re: Joe Bonamassa Signature Fender High Power Tweed Twin.

btw a twin would have 2 speakers.. so 2x85 = 190w rated capacity of the speaker load.

Re: Joe Bonamassa Signature Fender High Power Tweed Twin.

I want a Fender HPTT but not the price that Fender will ask for these. Guess I better start saving eh!

These suckers are LOUD! Joe killed what little hearing I have left at the last Baked Potato gig with one. I had the seat in the Death Star beam of destruction at just 10 feet away. He forgot the plexiglass shields.

Re: Joe Bonamassa Signature Fender High Power Tweed Twin.

I'm really interested by this amplifier... it looks very cool !

Anyway, it's a Twin Tweed, so it's a safe bet !

I look forward to listening it and trying it (in France).

Re: Joe Bonamassa Signature Fender High Power Tweed Twin.

I hope they make that speaker in a lower wattage version. I'd love to check it out.

Re: Joe Bonamassa Signature Fender High Power Tweed Twin.

although not surprised he went with Celestion speakers to fix him up..
but I would have thought the American company Guitar Warehouse Speakers would have wanted to jump on this.

they make some pretty nice speakers and cheaper than the originals to..

their British Lead 80's probably would have worked straight away.. https://wgs4.com/BL

but then again Joe's ears know best.

Wouldn't be surprised to see them hit £4k in the UK, given the prices of the '57 Custom range of amps...

JB shows: Newcastle 2015, Hammersmith nights 3&4 2015, Calling Festival 2014, Newcastle 2012, Bridlington 2010
Guitars: Gibson Custom Shop Les Pauls; Skinnerburst #018 (Aged), Texas Burst (Heavy Aged), Fender Custom Shop Strat '63 Relic
Amps: Mini Jubilee Head, Carol-Ann Satin

Ouch.....!!!

Re: Joe Bonamassa Signature Fender High Power Tweed Twin.

I think he just put stronger speakers in his 57 and used them to design a 'transparent 57 speaker'
sort of him using 300w EV speakers in his 4x12's for so long

I couldn't see these coming out as a full amp..

just that he's tearing the heck out of the cones on the 57's.

so a pair of speakers will not be 4k.. maybe 400 (200 each)

I think he was talking 'bout the price of the signature amp for 4K

Re: Joe Bonamassa Signature Fender High Power Tweed Twin.

What happened to the "I'll never have another Fender product on stage with me again" statement after the gold sparkle strat incident?

That was a while ago, yes, but damn those were serious words. Now we have a signature fender amp......WOW.

Gotta keep the machine spinnin' I guess.
