Re: Live at the Greek NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY!

Congrats Joe & Co. !! ... really enjoying this album!  (I have given the cd and/or dvd a spin practically daily since it's release.)

Was playing it this past Sunday at work ... then jumped on the elliptical at night ... and dropped in the dvd ... and was thinking to myself ... what other artist ... of all of my "favorites" ... have I done something like this? ... and after almost 3 months of getting their latest release ... NONE!  (And this isn't the only Joe release.  I come and go with my favorites ... but something of Joe's spins daily.)

Thanks for posting the News Lizzee.

Re: Live at the Greek NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY!

Congratulations to Joe, his incredible band and all else who were involved! Those 3 Kings shows were incredible. So glad he is finally getting the recognition he deserves. Why it hasn't happened sooner is beyond me. It's about time the Grammys recognize true talent. Fingers crossed he wins!

Re: Live at the Greek NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY!

I see the award show will be live from Staples Center in L.A. on Feb. 12th...since Joe will be getting off the cruise on the 10th and playing in Ft Myers, Fl. on the 13th, I wonder whether he will even attend the show?

Re: Live at the Greek NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY!

Well done again Joe. Chances of winning are good, not great since it is all wrapped up in politics of the recording industry in which he is an outlier. Kevin would make a great recipient if Joe can't be there and lightning strikes. Fingers crossed.

Only way they'll start airing the blues award part is:
If blues players started tattooing their butt's and dropping the pants to show everyone.

sad but true.

Re: Live at the Greek NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY!

Congrats to all! Remember, Joe is already a "Grammy Nominee" for his duet with Beth Hart in 2014. These awards will be given prior to the show, and the winner's names will be shown, on screen, during the show. I can't watch, there's too much music that has no meaning to me. I'm also amused, as Jim Moody noted on Facebook, with this being "Traditional Blues" since Joe is far from Traditional, just ask the purists. lol I also agree that politics play a large part in awards, so not winning doesn't reflect quality. The exposure will be wonderful and this CD is worthy of all the praise. BonaWho?? smile

That would do it, for one.  But I think Joe is too busy and unconcerned to attend otherwise, even for a winner.  Man, that sounds so good, "and the winner is..." OUR winner! smile Congratulations big time to you Joe, and that fantastic Three Kings Band!!! big_smile

I really hope and raise Faith that, if not this year, next year, and it would be extremely satisfying to me if Joe & Beth won for their upcoming album.  I can imagine them both strolling up to the podium...Beth totally exuberant and Joe a truckload of smile... Now THAT would be amazingly scrumptious! cool  We'll see.  In the meantime, CONGRATULATIONS Joe!!! wink

"There's a lot of people that are in so much of a hurry to be, I guess, to be famous or that they don't want to take the time to learn to play and do all that. They'd rather just knock it down off a computer and maybe get on a game show and get famous..That's fine if that's what you want to do.

Re: Live at the Greek NOMINATED FOR A GRAMMY!

I know there are politics involved but of your are there you have a chance(think Jethro Tull for metal album years ago!)
Maybe there are some underground bona Grammy voters
Either way it's great recognition anyway you look at it
So high fives all around to Joe and the team!!

It's been going on for years...As I said way back in the beginnings, there will be a time no one can ignore him...it will happen one IF these days.  This year may finally break through.  Next year...lookout!
