Topic: Joe comes to Canada

Canada is three thousand miles across but it looks like Joe is going to touch down briefly in one area.

It's a long way to travel but the rewards are... well... Joe!

Re: Joe comes to Canada

Since I spent close to $1,000 in May to see Joe,in Binghamton NY,  I passed on the pre-sale tickets for "Canada"
Aka Kitchener and Toronto.

I work 5 min away in Toronto and Kirchner is a mere 1hr drive for me.

So months pass, just last weekend I joked with the wife: I should by a ticket, she said why not.

So I jumped on the system bought Toronto Sony Centre, not many seats left, I'm in the balcony all by my lonesome.

I was going to post shortly about meeting up with Bonna-Buddies for dinner/drinks before.

Re: Joe comes to Canada

Yeah I saw there were some kind of 'Platinum' seats at $450 I'm pretty sure most Canadians will bring their tool belts and unbolt that seat to take it home with them for that price. I remember the days when Joe would play in a club to whoever showed up. Ah well, should be a good show. Pretty sure he'll tour across Canada when he's over 80 as most of the great players who live that long do. Unfortunately I won't.

Re: Joe comes to Canada

Nick... there are "platinum " tickets reserved a every venue now, for those with deep pockets.

For Binghamton NY, I paid $125 a seat
It was the 600kl drive, the 4 nights in a hotel, 4 nights of food, 600kl drive back, stopped in Niagara Falls for 1 night and saw Rik Emmett and Dave Dunlop, then home, that was a $1,000 week.

But surrounding those "platinum " seats are the "standard" $128/seats

I could have got those $128 seats in Toronto but I didn't, so I just bought 1 seat now for $99.

I won't drop $250/350/450 on seats, please I'm Canadian

I'm not bringing anyone else since 1- I waited too long, 2- only the back row of the balcony has multiple seats.

Hope you now understand my dollar total

Re: Joe comes to Canada

Just got another email that Joe was coming to all of two venues in Canada which stated:

"Bonamassa only plays venues that have the highest quality acoustics to compliment his traveling sound & light system that is meticulously designed for the best and most authentic classic guitar concert experience."

That's just great, as long as the venue meets the 'highest quality acoustics'. So much for the days when playing the small venues where he would play a full set to whoever showed up. Here in the great white north most of our concert locations, outside of big cities, are in hockey arena's. That said over the years we've had SRV, BB King, Bob Dylan, Jeff Healey, Colin James, and a host of others who didn't really give a damn what the hockey rink acoustics were like. They just came to play to whoever showed up.

Re: Joe comes to Canada

Just wondering if anyone here is going to the show in Kitchener on Tuesday November 15 and would like to meet up before the show!! My lovely Bonasister, Vicki Hamilton, is driving up from Michigan with her husband and it would be great to have a pre-show "get together"!
Let me know, Thanks

Re: Joe comes to Canada

I'm going to the Sony in Toronto the next on day the 16th
I was going to ask as well if there are any Bona-Buddies doing Toronto

P.S Hey Nickle . I've seen Joe twice in London's Bud Garden's Arena
Some of the best sound I've heard from all of the locations I've seen him.
Worst sound was the balcony of Sheas Theatre Buffalo
