What a jam that will be....made too many trips to socal this summer already, and I have front row tix for Matt Schofield that day, but damn, that is tempting....Josh Smith, Orianthi, Derek (Trucks?), Richie Sambora and Joe is awfully hard to resist but I'll have to let Matt take the sting out of it for me....

Darn. I'm missing all the good stuff. I'll give a heads up to the Bona Spud gang.
Off tomorrow across the pond for a month or so. I'll check in when I can .

Updated info on the book signing & jam from Norm's FB:

"Book Signing with Joe Bonamassa & Richie Sambora this Sunday August 7th at the Maui Sugar Mill Saloon. The book signing will be from 6:30-8:15pm, then we will clear the room for the Celebrity Jam that will start at 9pm with Joe, Richie, orianthi, Jimmy, Tiny, Derek, and Josh Smith. In order to get into the book signing you will have to bring your book or buy one there. The Celebrity Jam will have a entry fee of $20 or more DONATION for general admission. There will be a separate line for VIP PRIORITY, which will get you in first before general admission. In order to get in the VIP line, you will have to DONATE $100 or more to The Midnight Mission! All of us love this charity, who helps LA's homeless, so we would like to raise as much money as we can for them. Please SHARE this video, and we hope to see you there!"  https://www.facebook.com/normansrareguitarscali

Norm's video w/ updated info:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jjbk9i2MtqE

FYI:
"Derek" is bassist Derek Frank, not Derek Trucks.
"Jimmy" = Jimmy Angel
"Tiny" = Tiny Biuso (drums)
Per Tiny Biuso's FB, Yolanda Thomas will provide backing vocals.

Should be an amazing jam!

So much music, so little time!

Anyone here going?  (It pains me to miss this rockin' jam, but it just didn't work out for me today.)

Norm's book is officially on my "must read" list.  Hope they raise a lot of money for Midnight Mission!

Would love to hear about the jam if anyone has time to share their experience. (Thanks!)  Video(s) would be much appreciated, too, thanks!  smile

Re: Joe at Book Signing / Jam - for Norm's Book @ Maul Sugar Mill 8/7/16

Sure would have loved to have been able to go to this, but can't be everywhere (as much as we try, lol) I believe Linda Moke will be going and she is going to try and get video. She has said the place only has about 3 good spots to capture video from so she's not sure how successful she will be. Crossing my fingers that she'll get something.

Re: Joe at Book Signing / Jam - for Norm's Book @ Maul Sugar Mill 8/7/16

Fingers crossed for Linda!  I've enjoyed her youtube videos.  (Thanks, Linda!!)

Speaking of youtube videos, I've been wanting to thank you, Natasha, for all your high quality videos!!  You do both fans & artists a great service by sharing online.  My development into a huge Joe Bonamassa fan was greatly accelerated by watching your videos.  The videos are like commercials and product samples in one for new fans.  And, for the established fan, the videos simply feed the addiction! smile

So, thank you Linda, Natasha & the rest of you who post high quality videos of Joe & other world-class musicians!
And thank you to Joe & the other artists for allowing it!

(Just to be clear, I'm in favor of fans who inconspicuously tape high quality videos with the artists permission (like Natasha & Linda).  I am not in favor of watching a show through a sea of smartphones held up in the air.  And I totally support artists who say no taping.  It's their call, IMO.  Sorry to get off topic!  And, I hope my efforts to not stir anything up, do not end up stirring anything up!  Peace! cool )

So much music, so little time!

Re: Joe at Book Signing / Jam - for Norm's Book @ Maul Sugar Mill 8/7/16

Thanks Rufus, glad you have enjoyed the videos.

There was a live feed of the event at the Maui Sugar Mill which was posted on facebook. Not sure if the link will work. It was by TourBusLive.com whatever that is. Looked like Joe was trying his hardest to keep things on track and he and Orianthi had some good back and forths going. Don't know what Sambora was doing. I think I sometimes take for granted Joe's tone since we see him so much and usually by himself. But to hear him playing with others it really hits home how incredibly gorgeous his tone is compared with others. Was wondering if he was playing the new guitar, Son Of A Preacher Man or Skinner. Since they have a similar look.
Here is the link for the live feed that happened. Hope it works https://www.facebook.com/TourBusLiveDotCom/?qsefr=1
