Topic: ZZ Top dvd in the works

Apparently, ZZ Top will record a live dvd in Dallas soon. They were offering free tickets to it on myspace and through their web site. All I can say is FINALLY! One of the greatest live bands of all-time and all they show of that is a side off Fandango. This is one of my most anticipated releases.

Re: ZZ Top dvd in the works

I'm a fan of ZZ TOP Deezer, and I know that I've seen them live probably 30 times. I am glad that they will have a live DVD out, I don't know why they didn't do it sooner. I'll bet this has something to do with their new manager. I always liked them but the last few albums really sucked in my opinion. I saw them a while back in New Orleans with Lynyrd Skynyrd, actually quite a while back, 1999 I think. They really put on a great show that night, but they mostly played the old favorites. Funny that you should mention Fandango because I was at that show at the Warehouse the night they recorded the album side on New Years Eve. If you have the original album the inner sleeve also shows where I was at Texas Stadium for their first annual barndance and barbeque in Austin in 1974. It was an all day gig with Joe Cocker first, then Santana, Bad Company with Jimmy Page sitting in for a few songs, and then ZZ TOP. Ah, those were the days when rock'n'roll was king and concerts were only $8 to see a great show with all those bands. I would love to go see them in Dallas but I don't know if I will get the chance.
