Topic: Clyde Auditorium 7/3/16 Glasgow, Scotland

Fantastic show last night in Glasgow. We were sitting front row of the balcony which after being on the rail for the past 4 shows it felt like I was a mile away from Joe, but have to say the sound was absolutely incredible from this spot. I could finally hear all the lyrics Joe was singing. At the other shows we were at the stage and the speakers were over our heads so we only got the sound from the amps since there were no stage speakers. It was a nice vantage point from the balcony for seeing the whole stage and it was cool to be able to see Reese's fingers on the keyboards and Anton wasn't hidden behind his drums. And thankfully the camera has a good zoom so I could bring Joe in close. Was kind of missing him being right smack in my face, but I can't have that every time. Thankful I got that as much as I did. Here in Bristol we finally are in a hotel that has high speed internet so I can now upload this show as well as the Preston one. I am starting with this one because the sound was so good. It was so nice to be at this show with Maggie, Cathy and Kenny. And we had a great time hanging out beforehand with all of them plus Graham who had been in town. Always more fun when we are there with friends. I feel the show has had a number of subtle changes within the songs as Joe and the guys become more comfortable with the material. The "Black Winter" was phenomenal. I wish there had been a little bit more light on Joe because it was a bit hard to see him, but I can see why they dim the lights because it adds to mystical qualities of that instrumental piece. I think that may be my favorite of the show aside from "How Many More Times". I would love for him to add this to the setlist for his regular shows. I could hear it again and again because so far it has not been the same for the past 4 shows. It's a piece that evolves. Can't wait to see where he takes it at the next 3 shows.

Re: Clyde Auditorium 7/3/16 Glasgow, Scotland

Thanks Natasha - as always. This is my favourite Scottish venue and the sound is never an issue. We were in the 3rd row so had a perfect view. I am so glad that Joe steered away from the "obvious" songs. Jeff Back's "Truth" was one of the first albums I bought so any song from there is special. I love the way Tea For One morphs into I can't quit you baby and as Joe has picked Zeppelin's live version of How Many More Times there is a twist in there. Simply outstanding. To me Pretending is a strange choice but overall I can't fault the show at all. See you all again in Greenwich.

The last concert I saw at this venue was Thunder/King King so I had a great big grin on my face watching Cathy trying to persuade Alan Nimmo to bring his band to America. Time will tell.

Thanks for these as usual Natasha, great to hear all the concerts. Looking forwards to actually hearing the final few songs from Preston as my hearing from the **** whistler why screwed it, has finally started to recover and I can hear it without a distorted ripping sound. Again thanks. You are a star. big_smile

Come on the Blades (sorry Idolbone just had to borrow your line)

Re: Clyde Auditorium 7/3/16 Glasgow, Scotland

It was a great show. loved 'boogie with stu' and 'swlabr' and the tea for one/ I can't quit you baby made me think he screwed up the lyrics when he said the first line! lol.

I thought the mix was a bit off to begin with, but seemed to settle within a few songs.

Anyone else notice Kevin Shirley hanging out by the mixing desk?

Re: Clyde Auditorium 7/3/16 Glasgow, Scotland

Kevin is at all the shows. They are filming Greenwich and bonus material will include The Cavern Club. Wouldn't surprise me if there is audio from the other shows.

Re: Clyde Auditorium 7/3/16 Glasgow, Scotland

Thanks again, Natasha!  Great to experience these shows through you when we can't be there.

Re: Clyde Auditorium 7/3/16 Glasgow, Scotland

I sure hope that this gig is recorded for DVD/CD! I'm loving these video's Natasha! Thanks for sharing with us as this is the only way that I can experience these shows.

I knew they where filming one of the gigs, which I can't wait to buy now lol.  But it would be really cool if they do release audio for all the gigs.
