I agree with it except for the flash. Joe wears sunglasses, I assume for that reason. I definitely understand why one should not use flash, but the pix just suck without it.

Fortunately, I'm too short to block anyone's view-- hopefully that decreases my "annoying" factor. 

I never use flash at any of the shows with my digital camera.  In addition to the possibility of it hurting someone's eyes, I find that it obliterates the cool stage lighting and/or lights up the audience rather than the performer (depending on the perspective).  However, with my regular film camera the flash is necessary.
