It was an incredible night last night in the Cavern Club. Must have been about 90 degrees in there. Music was really loud, Joe was sweating like mad. He came out in jeans. Cavern Club T shirt and jacket, but about 3 songs in he took off the his sweaty jacket and threw it into the audience towards us. Caught us by surprise. Phil and the guy next to him both grabbed for it, but the other guy had a better hold of it and got it. After the show we saw him wearing it outside. He was pretty much beside himself over his acquisition. It was a rockin' show with a number of familiar songs as well as quite a few I didn't know since I've never really listened to Jeff Beck. Many of the songs were very interesting mashups. Like he started Tea for One and then morphed it into I Can't Quit You Baby. This one was an agreed upon standout of the show. I loved all the Zeppelin tunes, but then again I do love Zeppelin. Really enjoyed the instrumental Black Winter which was kind of like a combination of White Summer, Black Mountainside. Nice little touch of Django at the end. And I absolutely loved "How Many More Times". It's one of my favorites off of Zeppelin One and Joe did and awesome version of it. The Clapton stuff was great too. "Pretending" was really well done and featured a great solo in the middle. Joe had not allowed any filming to be done at this show because they had some of their own people there filming it. So it will probably be a part of the DVD that will come out in the future. It was so great to be at this show with all of our UK friends. Quite the gang there for this one and it really made it extra special. Thank you Joe for putting on this special show and allowing us to be there. It was an incredible experience.
A few photos. The one inside the show was taken by Big D the Bass tech. Other photos show Joe receiving his brick in the Wall of Fame outside the Cavern Club. https://www.flickr.com/photos/anitrasda … 9770198931
