Topic: Mingo Fishtrap

Silly name but great musicians.

These guys named their band after the intersection of two streets in Denton, TX where they originated.

They're now based out of Austin.  I heard them when they played in Ft. Worth on New Years Eve, where my friend Chris
Watson opened for them.

Soul Funk with a hint of New Orleans.  A fantastic singer and a killer horn section.

For those attending either the Big Blues Bender or Joe's Blues Cruise... be on the lookout for Mingo Fishtrap as they will be performing at both.  Would certainly not consider them a "blues" band, but more of a soul funk group with an amazing horn section and a lead singer with an incredible voice.  Have seen them 4 times, the latest of which was this past weekend.  Very entertaining
