Topic: Quinn Sullivan

Wow, kind of surprised there are no threads about Quinn. So I guess I'll start one. We finally got a chance to see him last week at the Western Maryland Festival. He is now 17 years old and you can tell this kid is going places. He really is a rising star. He's been out on the road a lot with Buddy Guy who has taken him under his wing. At this show he had his own band and I was so happy to see Kevin McKendree there playing keys. We first met Kevin at Joe's Chicago shows last Spring when he was filling in for Reese while Reese was being inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame. Kevin is a fantastic keyboardist and plays on Quinn's new album. Quinn played some old favorite covers as well as some of his own stuff. His voice is getting better and better and his guitar playing just continues to improve as well. We will definitely be keeping our eyes on him.

Additional Quinn/Conan PSA - Don't worry that they got Quinn's name wrong when you go to set your DVR and see "Brent Sullivan" listed.  It's not an error--comedian "Brent Sullivan" is booked tonight.  Funny coincidence!  I'm glad I googled "Brent Sullivan" before I alerted anyone to the "error!" tongue

DVR scanned thru the show this morning ... very good exposure for Quinn ... couldn't have asked for better camera shots, acknowledgement from Conan and guests ... and a bonus that guest Jeff Bridges sang a song / played keyboards right infront of Quinn.

Not my kind of vocals, but a great guitarist - sounds like Eric Clapton is a huge influence on his playing - I am a big fan of Clapton's music amongs others - definitely a player to watch in the future.  I can only watch him on the internet not being from the US, but he comes across as a genuinely nice guy, too.
