Topic: Keeping the Blues Alive Cruise 2017
Love the lineup this year. This will be my first Joe Bonamassa cruise but we are in. Leaving out of Tampa is awesome. Can't wait until February. Hope to see many of my bonabuddies on the ship.

Thanks for posting you are going Susan, that makes it more enticing to me!
I seriously doubt i will go but i signed up to get the updates just in case.
I am wondering, does anyone know if you need a passport because it goes to Mexico?
Thanks
yes
I know this is not an audience participation guest list but I'd like SOMEBODY to get Henrik Freischlader to this side of the Atlantic. The boy can flat out play with the best of them... like I said not an audience participation list so I'm gonna shut up now.
got my booking date....yeah baby this will be another blast at sea with Joe B and friends
cheers Ron
I'm going to try to pull out all the stops to make it to this one!
Kind of curious who else they will be adding to the lineup. Nice to see Beth will be there. We've seen Gregg Allman twice in the past year or so, so I guess when he's playing it'll give us a chance to check out other people we haven't seen yet. Sure hope JD Simo, Josh and Kirk will be there. It was cool to see that Honey Island Swamp Band is on the list. Phil knows Aaron Wilkinson, the main guy because Aaron's wife is one of Phil's clients. It'll be nice to have them on the ship. They are very excited to be invited.
yes more to come
I think Austin Young and a few others for sure

I hope that Ryan Mc Garvey will be invited a second time. He would deserve it so much!
Josh, Kirk and Henrik would be great too.

'We're gonna need a bigger boat..'
Anyone know price ranges for the cruise? We've cruised three times but we usually do seven night, balcony rooms.
Edit... Nevermind, I just clicked the link. Considerable more pricey than a regular cruise but that's admission too.
We are seriously considering this. A few questions for the veterans. Does Joe play a full set or just a few songs? Did you actually run into Joe, like in a restaurant or at the pool etc? Is this like a normal cruise where there are day excursions? Just trying to get a feel for what this is all about. Would love to hear your past experiences!

To answer from my 2015 experience...Full sets x3! In 2015 he did two full sets with his band and one full set with Rock Candy Funk Party. I ran into him a couple of times, he was fully engaged in conversation with others at the time, but still got an acknowledging nod from him. Since the 2017 cruise will have only one stop you will have only one opportunity for excursions, other than from the sailing port. But yes, there will be day excursions available. And to answer a possible next question, no, Joe will not be playing during the time in port.
If you have cruised before you will find this cruise to be a bit different. At least I did. The atmosphere on board is fantastic, yes other cruises are good to, but this one is just unexplainably better. The mood. The music. The people. For me the stops in port didn't matter, where the ship went didn't matter. Now, since there will be no music while in port, you might as well make the most of it and explore while there, I know I will.
On a side note...looks like we both joined the forum on the same day 3 years ago!

Hi I have been to both. So here it is
if you are a Joe fan or just a lover of music.....go
If you like to see Joe at one of his shows........go....every seat is a great seat.....go
If you want to see some of the best musicians and new up and coming blues/rock artist.........go
If when we pull into port you want to go ashore........go
Check the first run of who will be playing...this is the first pass!!!!.........you better go
If you go you better book as soon as you can because it will for sure be sold out
Reasons not to go...um....ah........there are none
cheers hope to see you there
Ron
You would not need a passport if you do not disembark.
However, as a any Navy veteran will tell you, if you have a chance to get off a ship, unless you're in the brig or on duty or standby, do so!
Rock ON the water & seek Rock also on the shore & Keep The Faith,

This will be my first one, and I'm thinking the same thing. Would be seeing these guys for the first time, hoping they get on!
just curious, I'm assuming that Joe tshirts are appropriate cruise wear in this case?
also, i see its not adviseable but according to this i think you do NOT need a passport if you do not get off the ship in Mexico
am I reading that correctly?

They may say you don't need it, but every time we've been on this cruise, they always look at your passport when they initially check you in and when you leave through customs after the cruise is over.
