You all will recognize the music. I was there myself when it was performed. It still raises goosebumps.

I have been following Christie's career since I found out who she was at Joe's first RAH show.  At that show and a couple of others I was able to watch her working up close (as someone who enjoys taking pictures that is a rare treat) and she is very good at going stealth.  At the first RAH show she was never in the way of us who were fortunate enough to be in the first row - not an easy feat for anyone given the stage was so low.  I actually yelled at her to get out of the way when I decided to finally take one picture when the band was taking its bows at the end of the show - it is still one of my all time favs.  https://www.flickr.com/photos/24057301@ … 853015980/

Interesting - I think Joe's was not the only career that got a big boost that night in 2009.

That is a great shot Sandy! Joe looks like the cat that ate the canary.
I've seen her working at shows I've been at several times. She sure does get them.

A wonderful, wonderful shot, Sandy, and one that brings back so many happy memories for us front rowers". (Glad you're home safely, btw wink )

Thanks for posting the link to the video, Rick. It's reminded me about an idea I had for the British Blues Explosion gig at Greenwich.

I had a look at Christie's website and found lots more fantastic photos from Joe's shows, many of which I attended. They brought back some wonderful memories of evenings spent with Forum friends too.

Here's one with Bill and Roy and another one almost out of the shot on the right.

This one with, in order, Roger62 (I think), Michael, Mark, Pete and yours truly. Goodness knows what Michael, Mark and Pete are looking at while Joe's giving his all. lol At least I was paying attention.

In this one, if you could hear Joe, he was saying "Michael!" when he spotted Michael and I hanging over the barrier at the side of the walkway. smile

Bill, I can only imagine that they were looking for a pick that Joe had tossed and which didn't quite make it over the barrier.

That was one heck of a week, wasn't it, Bill? I think I went to five gigs in six nights. Mind you it must have been even more tiring for Joe, he was performing at four of them! Then again, he didn't stand outside in the queue being frozen stiff for seven hours. I remember when Joe arrived at Shepherd's Bush he took one look at the half dozen or so of us in the queue, raised his eyebrows and headed inside. hmm

Yes Phil, that was a week I'll never forget.
You may recall that up until 3 days before the first gig, I was not going to any of these shows. 2 days before, I made flight reservations. The day of the first show, I landed at about 5am London time, waited about 4 hours for Roy's flight, dropped our bags at our hotel and were the 3rd and 4th people qued up in front of the Borderline just before noon. By the time I climbed into bed after painting the town a bit, I had been awake for almost 50 straight hours.
