Topic: May 8th

Well for starters I'd like to wish Joe Happy Birthday a few days early as well as my son JJ who's 27 this year. Where does the time go? Of course Happy Mothers Day to all the Moms on the Forum and elsewhere! Finally this May 8th marks 10 years since I joined this family as I like to call it. Seems like yesterday my neighbor laid a copy of Blues Deluxe on me and the rest as they say is history. I listened to that CD and wondered how hadn't I heard of this monster player? I stormed over to the now defunct, but infamous Tower Records and searched for more. I found ANDY and SILT w/DVD and zoomed home to soak those up over and over. Then the search was on to find a live show and caught my first live gig with Joe opening for BB King, this was before I knew about Joe's connection with BB. A month later I caught another show in Oct. '05 in Jackson, Ca. and sat next to a guy named Dave Iverson who steered me onto the Forum. I'd never joined an online group before, but I felt really comfortable chattin' with other Bonamaniacs like myself. It's been a great 10 years and look forward to 10s more!

Happy 10th J Dawg. You've been a great fan for a long time.
Joe B is starting to get long in the tooth relatively speaking. Now's the time you start fudging the numbers.
Happy Mothers Day to all you moms too.

Re: May 8th

Joe made me curious when he said his 40th birthday party is already planned.
What will it be? An intimate Gig with his all his Guitar nerds and family?
A cruise ?
I think it will be something special.

Re: May 8th

Well Joe said in his BBC interview with Paul Jones that after this summers British Kings Tribute, that's it for a long time of tributes

(If only I had 1% of Joe's guitar talent)

I'm actually glad to hear that.  This summer will be my third Bonamassa tribute at Red Rocks and I'm sure it will be fantastic.  But I crave another chance to see Joe performing a concert that is primarily his own creations.

Thanks Rick, you and Helen are 2 of many forum family members I've had the pleasure of meeting and taking in a show and pre-show fun with. You never know where you'll run into forum friends. I crossed paths with Rocket by chance a few weeks ago at The Fillmore taking in his first Blackberry Smoke show. Found out he has relocated to Alameda.
