Topic: Experience Hendrix Tour 2016

Presale starts today, but I can't find the code. I'm on their mailing list, but didn't get one.

Does anyone know it? (I'm interested in the three shows in MA/NH area, especially Worcester at the Hanover, and Hampton Casino, NH)

Re: Experience Hendrix Tour 2016

"STRAT" is the premium-price presale code for both Hampton and The Hanover Theater. The Hanover's website is having issues, so I called. I got front row center for The Hanover, and second row left side for the Hampton. About $100 per ticket though, which is double what I paid last year.

But it was 3.5 hours of amazing guitar. Ana Popovic said she'd be there, and the website lists:

Featuring Billy Cox (from Jimi Hendrix Experience / Band Of Gypsys), Buddy Guy, Zakk Wylde (from Black Label Society / Ozzy Osbourne), Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jonny Lang, Dweezil Zappa, Eric Johnson, Chris Layton (from Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble), Mato Nanji (from Indigenous), Noah Hunt (from Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band), and Henri Brown

Jon Butcher made an appearance in Hampton last year, so there can always be surprises.

Hate to tell you timb, but Ana is only playing 6 of the tour dates and Hampton and the Hanover are NOT on her schedule...she will be playing with the EHT on March 8th through March 13th only.....but it should be a hell of a show anyway....wish they would hit the west coast..

Re: Experience Hendrix Tour 2016

Well that's a disappointment. I wonder if she knew that when she announced it at a show she played here in Mass. The 8-13th are just midwest dates.

That's ok, it'll be a great show. And while I struggled to get through to get tickets in Worcester, I bought "backup" tickets for Hampton. So now I'll most likely see it twice. A few months ago I told my wife that if they did the tour again in the spring, I was going to take a few weeks off and follow the tour, grateful dead style. :-)

Re: Experience Hendrix Tour 2016

Thx for the info......might have to go again to "Experience" the magic

And so castles made of sand melts into the sea, eventually.........

Re: Experience Hendrix Tour 2016

thanks timb, have my eye on the Atlanta show, Fox is a great venue. I'm sorry to see that Eric Gales has backed away from it, still a fantastic lineup. Eric is doing the cruise thing, could be one reason.

Re: Experience Hendrix Tour 2016

That's the great thing about this tour, there are so many great players on the stage. I was excited to see Keb Mo on the bill, until I checked and saw he won't be at the New England shows. But those that will be there are well worth the ticket price. I don't know if they always play 3 1/2 hours, but they did at Hampton in 2014.

It'll be great seeing it in a more comfortable seat in Worcester. :-)

Re: Experience Hendrix Tour 2016

Once again this show was fantastic. And at 3+ hours, it's even a good value, as long as you like Hendrix. :-)

The setlist was pretty much this: http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/experienc … 02411.html

I'm seeing it again Friday at the Casino "Ballroom"

Re: Experience Hendrix Tour 2016

Cant wait for the West Coast swing!  Value? This alone is worth the price of admission.

I caught this show Friday and had a great time. KWS was really the best of the bunch but I also enjoyed seeing Eric Johnson!! https://youtu.be/8MOu3C1T-OA

Dont need a helmet to get me through life-walk across the water blame it on foolish pride.

You were right near me. I was row 2, in front of the mic stand Eric used. (Which was also right in line with Zakk's two 4x12 cabs. And I couldn't find earplugs on my way out to the show!)

I'm impressed with Dweezil, so I think the opening songs with him were the best, especially Foxy Lady with Henri Brown singing. KWS is great, and (IMO) that is elevated even more due to Noah's vocals.

All in all, at 3 hours or so of such great talent, and combinations you won't see otherwise, is one of the best values in live music at that level. Buddy Guy still keeps up, but I wonder how long he will keep doing this, or if it would continue without him. It was great seeing him smile as he watch Quinn Sullivan on stage. (I'm sure most know that story: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quinn_Sullivan)

Re: Experience Hendrix Tour 2016

Eric and Dweezil would have been pretty cool to watch, that would be worth the ticket price alone.

Re: Experience Hendrix Tour 2016

always a great show. Watching for the West Coast swing.  Re KWS band, I like Noah better singing rock than blues.  Dweezil stepping out of Frank tunes is great, but Eric Johnson and Eric Gales "May This Be Love" is the standout from the several EH shows I've seen.  They capture Jimi as well as anyone can. https://youtu.be/_iWURKMrKYM
