Topic: New JBTV youtube video

There's a new video posted on Joe's youtube page of Mountain Climbing and it says it's a fan video.  What is really fascinating is they put a Gopro camera on the end of his guitar.  I've never seen anything like it before.  It's pretty cool!  Was this done by someone on this forum?

Re: New JBTV youtube video

Leanne, not sure who did this one, but there's a GoPro version of woke up dreaming that is awesome. I was actually walking thru Walmart a few years back and Joe was on the GoPro display playing.
I'm sure you could find that on you tube or a general web search.

I will definitely have to look for that.

Re: New JBTV youtube video

Thought it odd labeled as a fan video since it had the gopro on Joe's guitar headstock and a camera at the drum kit. No "fan" would be able to do that. Maybe a fan was given the footage to put together, who knows. I thought the footage from the camera on the headstock was a bit hard to watch. As Jane mentioned, made you feel a bit dizzy and also a weird view of Joe's body. I guess I just like seeing the hands more down where the pickups are and a straight on view. Like anything in life, I guess everyone has different tastes and things they prefer.

I know!  That surprised me too that it was a "fan video" with the Gopro on his guitar.  No credits for it either.  At least when they show your videos, Natasha, they give you credit for it.

(I have to find the Day in the Life of Mike Hickey one that was up unless I'm dreaming ...)

(Off topic ... it popped into my head ... gotta give credit to Huey Lewis for trying it back in 1986 ... given the size of the cameras back then!! big_smile)

Actually, they've only given me credit for about maybe 25 % of what they have taken and shared. So it didn't surprise me there was no proper credit.

Thanks!  I really liked the Woke Up Dreaming.  It was a really interesting angle to see his fingerwork.  You have to focus on that and then the carpet isn't so bad.

Re: New JBTV youtube video

That's interesting, just noticed they removed the words "Fan video" from the title. I think part of it was filmed by a fan in the audience, but I guess the rest was not so they changed the title.

Re: New JBTV youtube video

LOL!  Probably a lot of folks questioned how it could be a fan video with a gopro on Joe's guitar!

Yeah, I certainly did.  Figured it was a super fan with an inside track on getting video from Joe's crew or something.
