Re: Tinsley Ellis

Heard him live a few years back which was a treat. Great player for years.
His tunes are on regular rotation on the Joe Bonamassa radio channel on Pandora.

Re: Tinsley Ellis

We saw Tinsley Ellis for the first time last weekend. Albert Castiglia opened for him and it was nice to see it was a sold out show. Really enjoyable show with a nice variety of songs. Really liked a few of his slow blues numbers like "Saving Grace" and a "Quitter Never Wins". He played two songs on a National Resonator, one being "I Can't Be Satisfied". I of course couldn't help but compare it to Joe's version which I probably shouldn't do since Joe always sets the bar so high. Tinsley's was a great version, just quite different more like the original by Muddy Waters. He also did "Little Red Rooster". Near the end of the show he invited Albert to join him on stage and they did "Minglewood Blues" into "Spoonful". Definitely reminded me of the Grateful Dead since they used to do those two and it did have a kind of spacey jamming kind of thing going on as the songs switched over. Then Tinsley played another 3 songs by himself. It was quite a night of music, Albert played for at least 45 minutes and Tinsley played for 1:45.
